If you thought Florida couldn’t get any wackier,

Of course not, but if you are rejecting a larger number of books unrelated to the humanities studies based upon something that isn't even taught one would have to ask why, especially when no explanation was given

It has nothing to do with reviewing appropriate books to fit the currciulum, rather just DeSantis taking another excuse to sneak the irreverent which appeals to the base

Again, you conflate teaching CRT as opposed to using CRT to construct curriculum. It is clear that the later is happening in K-12 education even if the former isn't.

Nice try at ad hominem as a red herring. The question on the table is, should states regulate textbook content?

No it isn't, no one is questioning states regulating textbooks, rather the deliberate strategdy of rejecting books over political issues and for political ends

The word problems I make up for my kids include things they can relate to. I also include the names of the kids in my classes. I make word problems using basketball rivalries, directional drilling or rough necking jobs, hauling hay, hunting, fishing, fertilizing fields, building fence, planting crops, etc.

So yes, word problems can be used to introduce or reinforce all kinds of things.

Do Math teachers employ a lot of word problems in secondary math? Actually, in any math beyond second grade?

California has repeatedly gone in the opposite direction, adopting textbooks for political reasons and political ends. Yet, the same people decrying Florida's move are ones that have been silent or even applauded California's.

So then even touching anything related to race, race in history, is "conflating CRT" into the curriculum?

We are talking math books here, not overall texts, Florida rejected "a record 41%" of the math books submitted based on CRT

Red herring in the form of a thought terminating cliche.

jfc - another shit stain moron with his logical fallacy drivel.

Me - I pointed out word problems are verbose and can introduce all kinds of topics.

T. Ass. – they are not allowed to do that

Me – I think my community is allowed to do that

T. Ass. - But the government of Florida can't do likewise?

Me – not based on your words - repeats your exact works saying they are not allowed to do that

T. Ass. - Trivial objection fallacy.

Me – shit stain troll is himself a fallacy

T. Ass. - Proof you know nothing about logical fallacies

Me – cuckoo. You suck at debate and are a retard. Maybe you are too stupid to know what you are replying to – sure looks like it here.

I would not have a problem with a community using the Koran in its word problems.

any more softballs to lob my way?

Must be you missed it up top, again, who uses word problems to teach math past third grade? You take a lot of Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, or Physic classes that used word problems? And even in word problems, how do inject strategized political content?

we definitely had word problems in calculus

Really, cite us one, and remember, it has to include CRT

bullshit. it has to be a word problem. you claim word problems cease existing after 3rd grade - which is comically absurd

now you are moving the goal post. first you laughed about denominators and pretended math is just numbers.

you are a liar

and here you go: Find the profit equation of a gay cake bakery with a revenue equation of 2000x – 10×2 and a cost equation of 2000 + 500x.,
