if you remember the 60's

There are creative geniuses and changes in every decade.

But the 60s had a fearlessness that has not been seen since. I think it turned the world upside down.

That the people involved may have sold out does not make the changes less valid.

I agree there are creative geniuses in every period .. but the 60's unleashed a freedom of expression that was not known to African-Americans, women, and youth. Prior to the 60's Americans lived in a box that stunted their creative freedom and expression.

The 60's was an explosion of freedom and creativity accompanied by the courage to break out of the box.

Like Smokey, "if only I could rewind .. wanna go back to that time."

I agree with you there. I was not specifically referring to the black freedoms and creativity, but I can see where that was more of a landmark than some of the other events.

I think the fearlessness speaks to this too. At no other time in history did people feel safe to speak their minds and go against the long held conventions.

Many people paid a high price to get us there. Its a shame so many of those sacrifices have gone unheralded.
