People like me never have and never will vote for Trump yet he will be president again because of ‘people like me’? That’s a paradox if I ever heard one.

No, it's not a paradox at all. There was an attempted coup. Your reaction is 'so what, gas costs too much'. If you don't care, then politicians won't care. And you obviously don't care. It is what it is. I don't care what happens to Trump. I care what happens to our system of free and fair elections. You don't. The result is completely predictable. You will see it play out in 2024.

I care but guaranteed, like most Americans there are more pressing matters to care about.
I think this is the most important issue for you to care about because it’s your last desperate hope it will influence the November elections.
But don’t worry. The party in power always goes too far and fucks it up for themselves. We’re seeing the results of it now.
If trump is re-elected we’ll get another far left president eventually . Maybe even Occasional-Cortex or Ilhan Omar. Or Gavin Newsome who will promise a California coastal utopia.

What is a coup? That's when an unelected and illegitimate person seizes power. Which is EXACTLY what Trump was trying to do.

IMHO there has NEVER been a more pressing issue. That's where we differ. As I said, the result is inevitable. Trump will not win the election. He will simply declare himself the winner, and this time, he won't be stopped. This happens at the state level. Your vote won't count. Neither will mine. If that's not your most pressing issue, we care about very different things. It's unfortunate.

Sure he will. He was before and now we’re all wary of him.
Personally I don’t think he’ll get the nomination. I stated back in 2020 he’d loose due to “Trump fatigue “.
I believe most Republicans have it now.
But if he does somehow win the nom we’re probably faced with a choice of the two worst possible candidates again like in 2016. Unless the dims can miraculously come up with a decent candidate like Martin O’Malley but that’s not likely.

Last night is a clear indication that most Republicans will do whatever Trump tells them to. And again, you act like the quality of candidates will matter. It won't. Trump wins because Republicans have rigged the system in their favor, and Democrats responded by calling them big meanies and nothing else. When it isn't Rafflesburger in Georgia, but instead a Trump sycophant, the vote won't matter. That's how these laws are written. And no one stopped them. But hey, gas prices might be lower.
