A lot of people fell for the WMD thing. Wolfowitz and the boys cooked the books on that one. Even Colin Powell going before the UN. Too bad that tainted his legacy a bit.

However, WMD and invading Iraq were two different issues. They used their cooked books as justification, yet so many other countries also possessed WMDs and we never invaded them. Gotta have a little bit better justification to invade a sovereign country and the mere possession of WNDs wasn’t it.

And many thousands died needlessly.
