Just want to go on record as saying I will of course vote Biden if he's the nominee, but what I will have a real hard time with is feigning excitement for corporatism as I canvass voters in Florida and Georgia this fall, and I think they're going to have a hard time getting excited for that too when Trump is running as a faux populist.
I think most people already knew that.
I really, really hope you're right because I see much more risk with Biden than with Sanders or Warren. Namely, that all it will take is one slip up, one stutter, one misstatement from Joe Biden that Trump will seize upon and use to cement the narrative that he's corrupt and/or suffering dementia. We know that's what Trump will do because that's what he and his allies have all said they are going to do.
Now, the saving grace has been that turnout has managed to sustain from 2018 and 2019, and if that turnout holds through November in 2020, then I think Biden can win if we get 60% turnout overall. Democratic enthusiasm seems to have less to do with who the nominee is, and more to do with making their voice heard and voting Conservatives out. If that will sustain through November, then I will of course be OK with a Biden Presidency because it will also probably mean a Democratic Senate and House.
But if 8 months of "BURISMA BURISMA BURISMA, LOCK HIM UP LOCK HIM UP LOCK HIM UP" will drag Biden just as "EMAILS EMAILS EMAILS LOCK HER UP LOCK HER UP LOCK HER UP" dragged down Clinton, then this race for the centrist voter will have been a gigantic waste of time and all the Progressives will say "WE TOLD YOU SO."

Democrats need to learn how to beat Trump and the right at their own game.
When James Carville ran Bill Clinton's campaign in '92, his mantra was to never let any false accusation or propaganda go unchallenged or un-debunked.
We need to learn how to not only shout and yell back at them, but do so louder and longer as well.

I think the best way to beat the bully that is Trump is to ignore him and turn out so many voters that the only possible message Trump could take from it is that people fucking hate his guts.
Democratic voters have sent that message clearly since 2018, and based on turnout from Tuesday, it appears that sentiment hasn't abated at all. I just hope it can be there again in November, and 6-8 months of BURISMA BURISMA BURISMA don't do what 6-8 months of EMAILS EMAILS EMAILS did.
