You’re *speculating* that Trump will refuse to concede if he looses; second, that it will cause some sort of uprising by the right. When was the last time there was any broad scale uprising by the right? The closest thing was the Tea Party movement, which unlike some other movements, was peaceful and stayed within the lines of a functioning democracy.

But as we speak, lefties are in the streets *pretending* to be angry over Floyd. Setting federal buildings on fire, destroying/defacing monuments that have nothing to do with the confederacy. Setting up woke caliphates while Democrat mayors and governors stay out of their way. Destroying property, injuring and even killing people in some instances.

Democrat players are already on the field and ready to go if Trump wins. It isn’t speculation that Democrats would ‘lose ugly’—it’s only a question of how bad it would get.

The we/they theory is dangerous and definitely corrosive to comprehensive understanding of politics. There are good people and bad people on both sides of the political spectrum. Also worth mentioning: People on both sides are humans who sometimes make mistakes. Wise humans admit their mistakes, thus giving them an opportunity to learn from them. It is a mistake to think one side is all good and the other is all bad.

You see, even thought I didn't vote for Romney in 2012, I actually was pretty confident he would win. I thought there is no way people will re-elect B. Hussein Yobabymama. But, I was wrong. I misread polls. I misread a lot of things. But, I learned from my mistakes. It was why I was able to accurately predict that Trump would win in 2016. I was the one JPP poster that predicted the states he would win.

Normally I'd have no difficulty at all in agreeing with that. Under Trump, however, the only way I can square things is to think of really excellent people I've met when they were very, very drunk: all you can do is try to hide your embarrassment and wait for them to sober up. Otherwise it is so weird that you're left wondering about the truth of black magic and the like.

What a great analogy!

That's very close to how I see it. Sure, DT attracts the deplorables. But they are not sufficient in number to account for all of his support. Aside from the deplorables, there are the deplorable enablers. Those who support him out of strong partisanship for reasons of the SCOTUS, or anticipated lower taxes, or the greed of the rich and powerful. They simply look the other way at all of the hateful nonsense and racism. Many of these people are quite well off and otherwise productive contributing members of society. America needs them to function.

Dealing with their dalliances is an exercise in frustration. The enablers are not about to go out into the streets nor embark into violence. They've already got it good and they don't want to mess up their good thing. They would freely sit by and watch as the extremists have their 15 minutes of fame because they really win no matter which party is in power.

The difference is that McCain and Romney weren't Fascists. They accepted the results, they didn't popularize conspiracy theories, and they didn't encourage people to riot. Trump, if he loses, probably will do those things because he is a Fascist.

Which is why the Left should stop their incessant attack on firearms. If they are truly afraid of fascists, Trumpians and RWNJs, they need to buy a gun, lots of ammo and become proficient in it's use. A scoped bolt action rifle is very reasonable.

BTW, let's not forget all of the pro-gun Independents who will be picking off the leaders of the RWNJ ruffians marauding in the streets. A chest hit by a 7.62X54R is sure to slow down any Trump Dick Sucker (TDS).

In today's surveillance society, anyone who thinks they can commit violent crimes with impunity is sadly mistaken. Some fools will certainly try, and they will in all likelihood end up dead or in prison.

Most people will simply watch it on TV. Most people have something to live for that they don't want to risk for politics. If gun nuts want to go play for keeps with their toys, most people will let the authorities deal with the situation. Life will go on. Such incidences will simply become news items and stories the more mature people talk about.
