If Trump gets the nomination...

If Trump gets the Republican nomination, where do the conservatives turn? Do they start a new Conservative party or do they hold their nose and try to reestablish the Republicans as the Conservative party?

I would think it would be increadably embarrassing for a true conservative to hold his nose and support Trump as the leader of their party.

If that happens all the same 'experts' who predicted Trump to implode by August will give no chance against Hillary in the general.

How would you know, you're not a Conservative, not by a long shot.

But you are, so if Trump gets the Republican nomination, where do you conservatives turn?

Do you start a new Conservative party or do you hold your nose and try to reestablish the Republicans as the conservative party?

Given the alternative, it's kind of a no-brainer.

But 'conservative' is a kind of general term: there's economic conservatives; social conservatives and foreign policy conservatives. On foreign policy, Trump may be as conservative as anyone on the Republican side. He's very conservative on immigration. And I'd say he's pretty moderate on social and economic issues.

That's conservative enough for this conservative. Again, particularly given the alternative. Are there any social moderates left on the left? Or have they all gone off the deep end? Trump also advocates taxing the rich.

Maybe a few democrats will hold their noses.

I don't know what the GOP will do but If Trump is nominated the Dem nominee will win by the biggest electoral landslide since Reagan beat Mondale. It doesn't exactly take a prophet or a statistician to predict that.
Your question is a good one as Trumps overt bigotry and circus show and his supporters are an embarrassment to this nation and need to be taught what it means to be an American cause something went seriously wrong with these clowns.

Or anyone who wins the Democratic nomination and you're right. Trump is an embarrassment to this nation and doesn't stand a chance in the general election as Trump will have alienated everyone but angry white working class rednecks and a handful of corporate managers. Trump might be able to win the GOP nomination with a plurality of the Republican vote of around 35% but not the general.

Much harder to be a democrat and support the lying war mongering Hillary, who protected a sexual predatory husband, who called the women he harrassed liars.

Or they have Bernie, the economically clueless old hippie.

I don't think Trump will win the nomination. I think he will do an H. Ross Perot and implode or he will be outmanuevered by someone in the field. I can see one of the GOP candidates to take a page out of Lincolns book by being everyone's favorite #2 pick.

Didn't mAnn Coulter say the Paris attack guarantees Trump's election?

I'll refrain from the Trump imploding prediction even though he may at some point. I've always thought Cruz was an under-rated candidate.

That Hillary remains viable in spite of her lying and baggage says some unsavory things about the democrats.

Does Trump and Carson's continued popularity say anything unsavory about Republicans, jihadist?

So you think Trump more exemplifies the Republican Party than HRC does the Democratic Party?
