Agreed. It explains why you are continually butthurt, #10.

The fact remains the Republicans are going to cross the line and default on the debt. This will have a negative impact on the US economy and tens of thousands of Americans even if only for a few days.

This mistake, all by itself, could cost the Republicans the next two elections: 2024 and 2026. It will probably cost them both the House and the Senate.

The debt ceiling could have been half of what it was and Trump would have spend the same and said 'do not argue over RAISING the debt ceiling... just do it'. And they would have. It could be a 1/3rd.

If they are already saying we DGAF what the debt ceiling is, and will spend what we want regardless, then reducing the debt ceiling does nothing.

But please explain how if Trump had less debt celling it would have curtailed his spending? I will wait.

Modest spending cuts? ROFLMAO.. Multiple different looks at their proposals show that if SS and Medicare are off the table and they keep their increase in military spending that the rest of the budget would but cut 30-50%. That isn't a modest cut by any stretch of the imagination.

God forbid that our government agencies have to become fiscally responsible to meet a 30% budget cut instead of being given a blank check to spend whatever they want

Each and every GOP admin, when they have control, when comparing their start point for spending versus where they hand it off to the next Administration increase spending and the deficit massively.

That first segment it Reagan to Bush. Look at start and finish point as they hand off to Clinton.

Clinton then tames the increase and hands it off basically flat. Bush Jr then skyrockets spending and hands Obama a disaster. Obama basically again tames it and hand it off to Trump mostly flat. Trump then skyrockets it again and hands Biden a mess.


And in each case of GOP rule you guys simply say 'ya but...but... but...' as you give excuses for why the GOP cannot control spending and only ever skyrocket it. You are ok with their excuses while blaming the Dme's who do much better.

Congress runs the budget not the president so look at your chart again and see who was in charge of congress during those increases and decreases

And thanks to the Republicans for being such lousy examples as leaders, the Democrats, and everybody INDEPENDENT in-between, now far out-number the Republicans and it is helping the Democrats become more powerful in numbers to win elections.

The Republicans ended up slicing off their own people with all this slicing and dicing of people that they have been doing while taking their cheap political potshots at those they hate and do not understand.

Trump made sure you knew that during the entirety of his term as he took credit for all of it, so semantic nitpicks are just dumb here.

And yet when Trump is trumpeting how 'great the economy is...etc' under his rule and you are clapping like a seal you do not say 'yes the Democrats deserve the credit' so this stupid game you play of giving the GOP POTUS the credit for the stimulus o the spending while you blame the DEms for the spending increases and deficits, is just that, stupid.

Trump himself made it clear whose agenda it was and who deserved credit as he DNGAF about the deficits and spending increases he demanded. His counter was he was growing the economy more to offset it.
