Google "DEMOCRATS fear Bernie will lose to Trump".

That seems to be their only real issue with Comrade Sanders, as far as I can tell.

He's the only one who truly wants to change the system and he's the only one who believes in real Democracy. When the Democrats were asked, in one of the primaries, if the nominee should be whoever gets the most votes, only Bernie said yes.
The original division between "Left" and "Right" was the division between people who wanted Democracy and people who wanted to keep the various systems of oligarchy. The Democrats who think we should just ignore the votes and let the DNC choose the winner are not Leftists.

I think it's fair to say that the DEMOCRATS who control the party don't believe in democracy in their own primaries.

You're also ignoring the fact that in a wider sense, the fact is that the United States is not a democracy, aren't you?
