The parties have switched as anyone knows who knows the history. But if we're going to engage in this nonsense, a better idea is to let the slave states pay. Why should New England states, New York, New Jersey, for example, states that sent their boys into the Confederacy to defeat the slave states bear the cost of reparations?

because all of human history going back to the advent of the species
has been influenced by horrific wrongs inflicted on people,
and there's absolutely nothing to be done about it anymore
other than trying to learn from it.
