Almost everyone that didn't have prior health insurance that got it under Obamacare was through expanded Medicaid. That is, the hidden socialism in the Obamacare plan.
Trump never implemented his plan, so that's an improvement over socialized health insurance.

The subsidies were supposed to be paid out of a profit-sharing plan by the insurance companies offering policies under Obamacare. They didn't make enough profits, or operated at a loss so that part of this nefarious scheme went south in the first year of implementation and since then the government has had to increasingly pick up the tab.
The plan was a disaster, not to mention lie. The Democrats set it up for failure to argue for universal government run health coverage. That would be an even bigger disaster... It amounts to the Democrats saying,
We can't afford Obamacare--which we wrote and passed. So, the only solution is to give us, the Democrats, complete control of the health insurance system!

If Capitalism cannot provide it, then socialism needs to. I think capitalism did provide it...but anything you hate (which seems to be most of your world)...is socialism.
Frankly, I think a healthy dose of socialistic influence is something that could help capitalism reach its potential. It isn't doing that presently.

The subsidies were supposed to be short-term until a fund comprised of profit sharing by insurance companies had enough money to cover the subsidy part of insurance policies. That never materialized but the policy subsidies had to continue or nobody would buy an Obamacare policy due to the combination of shit coverage, huge deductibles, and overall cost. The only way out for the Democrats was to extend, indefinitely, the initial subsidies they were giving out.
Then the Democrats doubled down on stupid and upped the subsidies during the Chinese Disease panic. Now they want those too to continue.

That has to be one of the stupidest things ever written on this board. What else should socialism provide when capitalism doesn't, a house, a car? How about a night on the town? Socialism is rarely the answer to an economic problem, and usually it just creates more problems.
Capitalism did provide healthcare right up to where socialism and government crept in and destroyed that system.
Where has that worked? Almost all of Europe has abandoned heavy-handed socialist policies because they were wrecking their nations and economies. The Soviet Union and Warsaw pact fell because of massive use of socialism.
