If God were real, you wouldn’t need a book

From the point of view of physics, light is just electromagnetic energy transmitted in the form of photons. Light (photons) existed long before there were stars. Light was first able to travel freely in the universe when the universe cooled enough for protons and electrons to bond. That was only a few hundred thousand years after the big bang. It took many millions of years for the first stars to form.

Bottom line: there was light long before there were stars.
Where, in our solar system, is there continuous light that naturally exists without stars or any man-made device?

Religion makes use of evidence, not proof.
Yep and the only evidence today is what people who already believe attribute to God. There are no old men parting a sea with a stick. No angels floating down from heaven. The only evidence today, for the Christian God, comes from people who already believe and attribute random events to their God.

You still haven't learned what 'evidence' and 'proof' are, nor the difference between them.
You still haven't learned what 'science' and 'religion' are, nor the difference between them.

Until then, you will continue to say extremely stupid things like this.
The only evidence today is a book written by men who lived in a time when superstition and manufacturing of gods was common.

Again, people who already believe in their God, attribute random worldly events to their God, for no good reason, and use that as evidence.

Sure, there's plenty of Christians out there who believe that the Earth is roughly 6,000 (or so) years old. It is a faith-based belief. There's evidence for a roughly 6,000 year old Earth, but there's also evidence for a MUCH older Earth.
The evidence for Earth being 6000 years old is based on Biblical claims. Nothing in the Bible implies that the Earth is billions of years old.

Why would Christians ignore Biblical evidence in favor of non-Biblical evidence?

You do not even know what "the evidence" of a god existing...would be.
Sure I do. I've read the Bible. People walking on water, coming back from the dead long after their brain and organs could possibly survive, angels floating down from the sky, inanimate objects talking...stuff like that.
IF a god exists...EVERYTHING THAT EXISTS WOULD BE EVIDENCE.
Right... "If". When you already believe in God, you "find" evidence for his existence all around you, because literally everything IS evidence in the mind of a believer.
But it would be ambiguous...and any rational, scientific individual would say, "I do not know if that is evidence of a god or not...so I do not know if at least one god exists or not."

THAT is the scientific, rational, logical thing to say about this issue.
Right and when you don't believe gods exist, you aren't going to attribute random worldly events to one.

the·ism
/ˈTHēˌizəm/
noun
belief in the existence of a god or gods, especially belief in one god as creator of the universe, intervening in it and sustaining a personal relation to his creatures.

Too funny! You rushed to an erroneous website under the mistaken belief that everything on the internet is true...just because it's on the internet.

Learn your Greek roots. Oh, wait, you can't, even when the correct answer is handed to you.

Oddly enough, there are quite a few religions that are completely logical and rational.

Science does not say anything about the matter. Science is completely atheistic.

Wake up.

Right... "If". When you already believe in God, you "find" evidence for his existence all around you, because literally everything IS evidence in the mind of a believer.

The salient question is, IF a god** exists...what would the evidence of that GOD be?

**
When I use the word "GOD or gods" here, I mean "The entity (or entities) responsible for the creation of what we humans call 'the physical universe'...IF SUCH AN ENTITY OR ENTITIES ACTUALLY EXIST.

THAT is the question. Think about it.

Right and when you don't believe gods exist, you aren't going to attribute random worldly events to one.
It does not matter if one "believes" a god exists; "believes" no gods exist; or does not "believe" in either direction. IF a GOD (as defined above) does exist (regardless of whatever any human "believes")...what would be evidence of its existence?

And that evidence would be: The existence of what IT or THEY created.

EVERYTHING WOULD BE!

But there is no way any human can determine if "EVERYTHING THAT EXISTS" is the creation of a god...or is simply the way nature played out without any gods.

The theists in this forum can be very thick headed about this issue...BUT THE FUCKING ATHEISTS LIKE YOU ARE BEING TOTAL IGNORANT ASSHOLES ABOUT IT.

In the meantime, the weather here is really rather pleasant today...lots of sun, and although cold, the sun makes it look almost like a spring day. All seems right with the world...except for 95% of what is coming out of the nation's capital...which mostly smells like Trump shit.

Hope all is well with you and your family.

Where, in our solar system, is there continuous light that naturally exists without stars or any man-made device?
Cosmic microwave background, the latent afterglow of the earliest universe after the big bang.
Our night sky would be glowing as bright as the surface of the sun, if not for the fact that photon wavelengths of the cosmic background have been stretched from visible light wavelengths to microwave light wavelengths because of 13.5 billion years of cosmic expansion.

Sure I do. I've read the Bible.
You have already shown that you haven't. You've only read snippets of it.
People walking on water, coming back from the dead long after their brain and organs could possibly survive, angels floating down from the sky, inanimate objects talking...stuff like that.
What inanimate object was talking?
Why do you think God has no control over his creation?
What theory of science do you think was violated?
Right... "If". When you already believe in God, you "find" evidence for his existence all around you, because literally everything IS evidence in the mind of a believer.
Yet you deny all the things around you.
Right and when you don't believe gods exist, you aren't going to attribute random worldly events to one.
You still don't know what 'random' means.

First, let's see you grapple with this one:
What, specifically, is a random number? What makes it random? Just how random is it? What makes rolling a die a random number? Is it the same kind of random number as picking a card from a deck of cards? Is it the same kind of random number that is thought up in someone's head?

No, you can't use statistical math, for that creates a circular argument fallacy, for statistical math uses random numbers.
No, you can't use probability math, since that doesn't use random numbers at all.

Right, someone who believes or is convinced there are no gods.
Someone who believes there are no gods holds a theistic belief, i.e. that there are no gods. That theistic belief precludes atheism.

Some internet trolls try to play the game that atheism holds no beliefs,
Some uneducated morons are unaware that atheists have no theistic beliefs. These morons assume that their inability to learn is the fault of others.

they just hold a provisional state of disbelief
Provisional? Some uneducated morons who are too stupid to learn, lash out in seething envy at those who are able to learn, who have learned, and who know sre trying to help.

because they haven't seen the evidence yet...
You have shown no "The Evidence". Please post it.

as if they are just patiently waiting for more evidence to roll in, lol
It's not like @Cypress is going to post it, lol.

So the Big Bang began as a sort of super star? How were the photons contained before the Big Bang?
There weren't any photons, electrons, or quarks before the big bang, dummy. They resulted from the energy released in the big bang.

That's the question I have never been able to get atheists to answer: how can a physical materialist worldview explain how something can come from nothing, and with just the right properties for complex atomic matter to accumulate.

Cosmic microwave background, the latent afterglow of the earliest universe after the big bang.
That is the standard regurgitation of those who know nothing and who simply copy-paste from science fiction sources.

How could there be microwave radiation loitering where the Big Bang occurred?

Our night sky would be glowing as bright as the surface of the sun, if not for the fact that photon wavelengths of the cosmic background have been stretched from visible light wavelengths to microwave light wavelengths because of 13.5 billion years of cosmic expansion.
This is JPP's stupidest comment of the week.

Then how did your God get created? This time, answer the question without invoking a Special Pleading fallacy

That's the question I have never been able to get atheists to answer:
Liar. I have answered all of your questions while you EVADE all of mine

how can a physical materialist worldview explain how something can come from nothing,
How did your God come into existence? No special pleading fallacies, please.

Too funny! You rushed to an erroneous website under the mistaken belief that everything on the internet is true...just because it's on the internet.

If a word has a specific, documented meaning in today's English language...then it does. The roots are irrelevant and just another attempt to distract the conversation.

That is not evidence of a god existing. That is not even evidence of the god of the Bible existing.
Yes it is. You cannot make evidence just disappear.
Wake up.

The salient question is, IF a god** exists...what would the evidence of that GOD be?
Some has already been mentioned:
* The existence of Earth, and the life upon it.
* The existence of the Bible, and the information contained within it.
* The existence of a belief in that God (Christianity).

Evidence is not, of course, a proof.

There is also evidence that no god or gods exist:
* The belief in the Theory of Abiogenesis.
* The belief in the Theory of the Big Bang.
* Extrapolation of chemistry to attempt to claim a complete understanding of life processes.
* The existence of the Church of No God.

Evidence is not, of course, a proof.
**When I use the word "GOD or gods" here, I mean "The entity (or entities) responsible for the creation of what we humans call 'the physical universe'...IF SUCH AN ENTITY OR ENTITIES ACTUALLY EXIST.

Not a question. A statement.

Correct.
But there is no way any human can determine if "EVERYTHING THAT EXISTS" is the creation of a god...or is simply the way nature played out without any gods.
Correct. It is not possible to prove whether any god or gods exist or not. ALL religions, including the Church of No God, depend entirely on faith.
The theists in this forum can be very thick headed about this issue...BUT THE FUCKING ATHEISTS LIKE YOU ARE BEING TOTAL IGNORANT ASSHOLES ABOUT IT.
He is not an atheist.

except for 95% of what is coming out of the nation's capital...which mostly smells like Trump shit.
TDS. I'll ignore it for now.
Hope all is well with you and your family.
And to you as well.
