Booyah!

Political junkie
Democrats claim that proposed GOP cuts will cost jobs.

Will sustaining current government spending stop job losses?

If so, how?

Will sustaining current government spending stop job losses?

what's your point? Of course it would stop GOVERNMENT job losses--but at the expense of the private sector. And government employees do not worry about being wasteful because they don't have to worry about turning a profit. Simple human nature. for government employees, their unseen customer is some mythical deep-pocketed zillionaire they can tap like an ATM.

Someone claimed earlier that GOP spending cuts will cost jobs.

They then stated that continuing current government spending will result in zero job losses.

I'd like to see the logic behind that bold prediction.

Hey boo boo, what don't you understand about your premise being non sequitur?

In a non sequitur, the conclusion can be either true or false, but the argument is fallacious because there is a disconnection between the premise and the conclusion.

The GOP proposed specific spending cuts, targeting specific programs and agencies. So the specific jobs lost would continue to exist if those specific cuts are not made. The only speculation in the estimate is how many private sector jobs would be lost due to those programs ending. That estimate is it will cause MORE jobs lost in the private sector, not less.

It is NOT just an act of cutting...that is a different argument.

those jobs need to be lost in the short run, in the long run the economy crushes the gov hacks and more total jobs will exist.

for gov equals more jobs, please see Russia

Ah, we have a mindless ideologue...the MBA savant

There are 3 drivers of spending, economic growth and expansion...government, private sector and citizenry. When private sector and citizenry stop spending, the economy begins to retract. When it happens as suddenly as it did in 2008, the economy begins a death spiral...

SO...the savant has a solution...force the only remaining driver to join the other two...BRILLIANT!!!

Hey, General Washington...Topspin explained why you died...your doctors didn't administer enough blood letting!

vs an idiot who thinks the gov doesn't spend enough. We imprison the most people in the world by far. That shouldn't be cut. Our military is larger that the next 5 countries expenditures combined. That shouldn't be cut.
Your a partisan hack and not even a good one.:fu:

death spiral, you are an economic moron. Recession happen on average every 7 years. This one would have been tiny an located in the sailing territory of the NE if we didn't have sheet sucking thier nuts.

Colorful, but not very enlightening. Care to explain, in english, what you are trying to say?

I totally agree...please bring me the Republican cuts to those things? There are many ways to lower costs and ways to increase revenues. Responsible Presidents like FDR paid for war by raising taxes.

But Republicans have decided the only way to address our situation is to place a pillow over the face of the middle class and the poor...THAT my clueless friend is political hackery.

Look Bf, I'm not republican hack. I'm as anti military as any liberal on this board could possibly approach being. They will not and have not brought serious cuts. That does not mean they are not needed.
There are no countries in Europe making hard choices right now right? LOFL

No. Only protectionism and anti-globalist measures will save the jobs of free and prosperous people from the grinder of internationalist fascist destruction.

The problem is, as Bfgrn points out in msg 11, the Repubs attack the lower class and/or those requiring assistance. One has to know where cuts will be made, not just cutting across the board.

Recall these infamous words regarding the war with Iraq, "War was an option we could afford." Perhaps start by cutting the military a portion of what the Iraq war has cost and continue cutting until all that money "they could afford" is returned to the government coffers and available for those in need.

You have your head so far up your ass there is no possibility to convince you if it is night or day, never mind how retarded your economic views are.

One more time. Care to put this comment into the perspective of the global financial crisis which occured in Oct., 2008?

Specificaly"sheet sucking thier nuts"? I am not seeing the connection between this sentence and my lack of an MBA in Economics.
