Discussions are good. Extreme partisan name calling and pissing matches (which I unfortunatley engage in) get old after awhile. Liberals and conservatives can only tell each other they suck so many times.

We often don't share the same view, and I have always enjoyed our exchanges which proves that one can get along with those they don't agree with all the time.

I would certainly not want an area that showed that conversation on the site could be "above" plain politics away from the sight of potential members (guests) or members that want to read but can't post in it. There would be some exclusion for people that displayed an inability to post "above" plain politics, but the posts could be seen, copied, and commented on in the "plain" area following our normal criteria and read by all.

However I think the muckraking area would be visible only to members, we don't want to scare potential new posters away if they happen to get a link to that area and don't investigate further...

not a bad idea, however, ib1 would love to scare away all new people and go back to when it was just a handful of you guys. i understand his love of the beginning of the board, but seriously, its the internet and IMO messageboards are more fun when there are more people with diverse ideas.
