jan 20 2016 GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Wednesday said it is "sad" that no blacks were nominated for top awards at the Oscars.

"I think it's a tough situation. I think it's really sad," the celebrity businessman and television personality said during an interview on "Fox and Friends."

"It would certainly be nice if everybody could be represented properly," Trump continued. "And hopefully that's the case, but perhaps it's not the case. It's a difficult situation."

For a political neophyte Trump sure knows which string to strum and when to strum it.

He has a solid lead in the nomination run, so why not a little subtle pandering to prep for the general. It's not like liberals can accuse him of cynically pandering to a minority to get into power lol.

Sam Smith has been accused of swerving the BET Awards because as a white man he didn't think he would win the Best New Artist prize.

Smith has been cleaning up at award ceremonies this year with his unique brand of bland pop, so it wasn't hugely surprising that he was honoured, even at a show that celebrates African American music.

Accepting the award on his behalf, actor Anthony Anderson said: "Sam Smith isn't here tonight because he's white and he didn't think he would win at the BET (Black Entertainment Television) Awards.


"He didn't think he could win. But we showed him that we love him, too."

Smith hasn't responded to the accusation, but was quick to issue a series of tweets thanking BET.

Since their establishment in 2001, the BET Awards have featured a handful of white nominees like Eminem (nominated 6 times, won once), Justin Timberlake (nominated 8 times), Robin Thicke (nominated three times), Macklemore (nominated 5 times, won once) and Sam Smith, who won but didn’t show up because he assumed a white person wouldn’t win.
 
Don't tell Philly Cheesesteak about The Donald's Oscars remarks, or he might start crying and starting threads demanding that the mods block Trump from ever posting on JPP.
