This fool is actually sitting under a tarp on the ground, locked and loaded as he says and waiting for the feds to fuck with him!!!!!!!! Others in the camp are seen tapping him on the shoulder just checking on him but generally ignoring him. He's just another of the sure enough nuts in this particular protest. Even those for whom they claim to be protesting for claim nothing to do with them. Holy crap!!!!!!!!! Who needs shit like that involved in any genuine or serious protest of anything!!!!!!!

Who on the right is actively supporting these whacks? I suspect many would like to support them, and their rhetoric over the last few years encouraged them... but when the rubber hits the highway, they don't have the balls to support what they sewed.

And you won't hear a thing...not a SINGLE THING about this on ANY of the Tightie Rightie Talking Head Radio Programs that litter our airwaves.

The right wing hacks here at JPP would love to support them but they know they do not have a leg to stand on...
So they cry " FERGUSON!" and wish the whole thing would go away.
LOL

You know, if I cared more about it and investigated it I might find something in this cause to support. My place borders US Army Corps of Engineers land and it is ridiculous what one cannot do "legally" here. I cannot run a brush hog around the outside of my place to cut down on fire danger without getting a permit. I cannot "legally" trim the Yaupan plants that grow over the fence and hang into my yard without getting another permit. I cannot "legally" burn the brush all around my property any time ... ever. I do this stuff. One of these days I may be hit with a big fine or prison time.

Now, if what I have read in the 2 articles I have perused so far is true then these guys do not deserve mine or anyone else's support. But it is in no way the same as the riots and such that we saw last year...yet. When property gets destroyed and people get hurt then it is the same.

As to the black/white issue, you cannot convince me that all the people responsible for property destruction, personal injury and loss in the roots in those cities were black. I'd bet the farm they weren't. You also cannot convince me that they were all unarmed protesters.

The police didn't "get involved" with the protesters until some of the protesters started breaking and burning things. They just maintained a presence until that happened. I see no difference in this situation as it is at the stage where law enforcement is maintaining a presence. I am willing to wait and see what transpires from here on out.

As you can probably tell, I do not agree with the OP that says if these guys were black or Muslims they'd be dead already or whatever. I do think concern is not as high because the nation hasn't seen these guys break and burn things or hurt people ... yet. Hope they don't either.

What is involved in getting a permit? Is there a cost or do you just object to the time and the inconvenience?

It's a cost. $150 to basically brush hog a strip 6 ft. wide by about 100 ft. long. I do it anyway w/o a permit but could technically get fined for it. I also use my 4 wheeler move things around and occasionally get it on their property. Illegal. It is an extra $90 to cut any "vegetation that is rooted on the Corps' property." I just think it is ridiculous to have such rules. The rule about riding the 4 wheeler I can understand. But the rest of them are ignorant, IMO.

I'm puzzled......isn't it basically my property that the Corps' is managing for us?......and you're bragging that you cut down and burn our plants?.......I think they should charge you $1500 instead of $150..........

I'd like to see any citation or notice of infraction due to anyone mowing or brush hogging edging strips of federal land anywhere. I don't believe that it happens regardless what some silly law might say.

the law is there to retain the power and give the government the option to act.

If your pulling weeds and making a firebreak without damaging the land they are not going to charge you.

If you go to the park and pick up trash and pull weeds the city is not likely to charge you

if you go to the park and set the trees on fire they will likely charge you

What about those who worked at the buildings who are now unable to do their jobs? What about the American Tax payer who is losing money because of this trespass. What about the loss of use of a group of buildings that were being used.

You see, the Protesters in the other situations (I agree they were very different situations and many were arrested) did not take a building from its owner, they congregated in the streets and sidewalks, areas that are open to the public.

I am glad they don't fine you, and you have a valid point. You should write your Congressman, send a letter to the editor of your local paper, heck put up a protest sign on your property.

You should not arm yourself, break into a local Corp of Engineers building and threaten to kill anyone who tries to remove you.

You see, these Con-Queda members might have a valid point, I don't know. The way they have gone about making that point, like petulant children with no regard for the rule of law, has made it so I, and many others, wont listen to any point they are trying to make. These people should run for Congress, support candidates who take up their cause, donate money to political campaigns. America was intentionally established so that rebellion and change can be attained without insurrection.
