I'd vote for Haley over Biden

It's still very likely Trump loses to Biden, as unpopular as Biden is. Trump will gain no new support as the campaign goes on, and independents have their minds made up about him. People who haven't paid attention to the dark vision he is laying out for the future if he gets a 2nd term will not support him once they start tuning in.

We can bump this one a year from now to remind the cultists of their missed opportunity if they still make Trump their candidate.

I've recognized that people were divided throughout my entire adult life and even before.

Obama / Biden didn't divide people.
Trump / Pence didn't divide people.

People fucking hate each other and always have.

The American population is comprised of extremely incompatible people,
and it boggles my mind that this isn't evident to everybody.

People give politicians both more credit and more blame than they deserve.

In a representative democracy, we get the government for which we vote,
but American voters have totally incompatible values,
and our elections solve nothing because of that.

I hate what you stand for. I hate what you want to do to the American people.

But I don't even know you.

So you are saying RBG accepted bribes. Hmm Duly noted I guess.

The Judicial Conference sets ethics and legal rules for all judges, at every level, before they hit the SC.

RBG was within those rules, as everyone assumed all SC Justices were, despite them technically not having any enforcement mechanism to force them to. It was expected that the highest court in the land would be the exemplar and lead with the best ethics.

Thomas was a massive failure, seemingly actually breaking many laws of disclosure even despite the SC not having firm rules. Alito also was outside the bounds of the Judicial Conference ethical guidelines. NO Dem appointed Justice was.

Horse shit. Most Republicans will never vote for Biden no matter who they prefer in the primary so Trump will undoubtedly pick up additional voters if he wins the primaries.

The Trump campaign has already accepted they will not make any gains amongst Independents or swing voters. He is at his ceiling.

That is why they are funding all these 3rd party candidates, in the hopes of bringing Bidens numbers down by splitting his vote. There are arguments over whether or not these 3rd party candidates will draw more from Biden than Trump, but for the Trump campaign it is a gamble they have to take, since his vote total will not go up.

Would you vote for Nikki if she’s the Republican nominee?

Stoney Baloney would vote for George Santos if he became the nominee!

Whoever can best antagonize the Democrats, as he thinks he is owning the Democrats! Total shit-stirrer!

I was referring to the current general election polls. He'll get some of the current Republicans who support other candidates in the primaries.

But he won't get a lot of them.

He tried to run a base election in 2020, and that's one of the reasons he lost. It will be even less effective now - even some of what he has as a base is disgusted with what happened on 1/6 and likely won't vote for him again.

Something you don't have to explain to normal, rational and educated people. Like Hillary in 2016, a significant amount of voters will simply stay home rather than vote for the candidate of their party.

As you pointed out, the Independents, who constitute the largest voting block at 40%, are moving away from Trump. As Trump's legal troubles advance into convictions, I expect the Independent vote to be lopsided against Trump.

More Than 7 In 10 Independents Want Other Candidates To Enter 2024 Presidential Race
Independents (72 - 20 percent) and Democrats (58 - 39 percent) say they would like to see other candidates enter the presidential race, while Republicans (67 - 29 percent) say they are satisfied with the current field of candidates....

...In today's poll, Republicans back Trump 96 - 2 percent and Democrats back Biden 94 - 4 percent. Independents are evenly split, with 44 percent supporting Biden and 44 percent supporting Trump...

...Voters were asked how much of the time they think they can trust the government in Washington to do what is right: 3 percent say almost all of the time, 14 percent say most of the time, 44 percent say some of the time, and 37 percent say hardly ever.

And a lot of other people would, too. She consistently outpolls Trump when it comes to a match-up w/ Biden.

So why are more Republicans supporting the deranged pathological liar? It makes no sense to me. They mythologize his years in office - they weren't good. The country was divided, people hated each other, he was incompetent & inexperienced, and more jobs were lost under his admin than any President in modern history. He also inspired an attempted insurrection and tried to disrupt the grand American tradition of a peaceful transfer of power.

If Republican voters care about moving on from Biden & changing the direction of the country - Haley is the answer. Not Trump. His dominance in the polls makes no sense to me.

I was considering Haley before she said this:
Nikki Haley: "I'll support Trump if he's the GOP nominee, even if he's a convicted felon."

They know.

“Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them.”

I will be voting for her in the primary.
