ID laws halted becuase they are racist

I don't know what that means.

Here in WA I registered to vote.

So, a few weeks before the election I get my ballot in the mail. It is MY ballot - no other ballot could be cast in my name, by me or anyone else, because it is coded as belonging to me. So, for example, duplicates of my ballot would just be invalidated.

I vote whenever I want and then send it in by mail or one of the many drop boxes that are a little like especially secure mail drops placed at official sites.

I sign my ballot - something nobody stealing my ballot could do. There is a web site where I can verify that my vote was counted.


No hunting for polling places. No lines. No "poll watchers". No crooked voting machines. No cost of polling places and machines. No ridiculously insecure "absentee" system. No changing ID system. No polling place hours (so I can vote at 1:00 am if I want). Easy access to information if I missed some issue on the ballot. No polling place volunteers that don't know the law. etc., etc., etc.



We've done this for years here. So has OR.

Every last polling place in America should be eliminated - they are there only because of the many opportunities for skewing elections that they provide.

EVERY state has a vote by mail system - so no ID law with that.

In fact, WA and OR have NO general purpose polling places anywhere in the state.

THAT is the direction we should be going.

The catch with polling places where ID is checked is that ID is only one of MANY ways that polling places allow politicians to make it harder or easier to vote, based on who they think will vote for them.

ID is only ONE of the problems.

And how does the vote counter know that it's you who did the voting and not someone who stole your mail or maybe lives in you home?

And don't say signatures; because no one signs their name the same, every time.

First mandatory voter IDs and then they can begin dealing with the next problematic area. :D

The signature gets compared to the signature in the voter registration database - which is not available to criminals who want to attempt to forge my signature.

Also, if I don't get my ballot, I can cause my ballot to be canceled and have a new one issued to me. So, if someone steals my mail, it isn't going to do them any good.

Nobody of any interest has my signature to copy. They do not know how I signed my voter registration database entry.

Plus, if I don't get my ballot I simply ask for a new ballot - in which case the stolen one is garbage. Actually, it isn't garbage - it is evidence in an investigation of fraud.
