ICC issues arrest warrant for Putin's war crimes

Well now, that's fighting talk, Mr. purple winkle.

Haw, haw..............................haw.
Laugh all you like, Ms. Moon. The fact you don't deny it is very interesting.

The fact remains, Ms. Moon, there are a lot of people in the world who want freedom. You want to impose your views upon them.

There were several countries that would have arrested Henry Kissinger if his plane set down there. There is precedence.

You just admitted they have no enforcement power. If some nation doesn't want to arrest the person they don't get arrested. The court, unlike real courts, can't call up some law enforcement agency and say, "Here's a warrant, go and arrest this bastard."

So, Putin won't be arrested in Russia. He's not going to get arrested in any country he goes to that thinks the ICC's decision is bullshit either.
Yes they can. Countries that are part of the ICC treaty are required to arrest him. Typically, the ICC gets involved when a state refuses to, or cannot prosecute an individual.

He won't be 'arrested' in Russia, but he can be kidnapped and brought to another country.

A host of war-crime-accused Israelis wander round the world at will. Some of them get fed and watered in the White House.

My point exactly. The only country that really gives a fuck about another country's supposed "war crimes" is the one that was fighting the war against the country being accused.

My view is:

The ONLY real war crime is LOSING.

Doesn't mean they will. Kidnapping won't happen either. You open up a huge can of worms when some country starts kidnapping the political leaders of other countries.

A meaningless gesture from a meaningless court...

It means an easy way for a government of Russia to get rid of Putin. Trying Putin in Russia could be politically difficult, while sending him to The Hague is politically easier.

We have seen it happen before, and there is a real chance we will see it happen again.

You are a very silly man. I don't have the means to impose my views upon anybody- unlike the media corporations which have the politicians in their pockets and so have their views imposed - upon mugs like you- BY LAW.
Look at yourself- an exceptionalist addict waiting for his next patriotic fix. You wave the flag almost as often as you wave your pomegranate pecker.

If the ICC fails to provide balanced justice then it would seem that you are right.

Whether Putin has committed war crimes or not, the international court isn't going to actually do squat about it because they can't do squat about it.

If Putin should set foot in any country who is a member of the ICC he will be immediately arrested. These include over 122 countries.

It never meaningless to be true to the law and to human decency. There's never a wrong time to do the right thing.

Milosevic didn't recognize the authority of ICC either, but the president of Serbia ultimately ended up in front of the International Criminal Court.

There is no ironclad guarantee that Putin will remain president of Russia forever. If rivals ever take control of the Kremlin, one of the easiest ways for them to get Putin permanently out of the way is to turn him over to the ICC.

The State of Palestine is an ICC member. How is the investigation into Israeli war crimes going ?

If the ICC is charging an invader of a country that is NOT an ICC member, what is it doing to charge the invader of a country that is ?

As I've been saying-- the integrity and impartiality of the ICC- and therefore its usefulness , is on the line.

You're losing all kinds of moral credibility on this board for sticking up for the truly evil, notorious war criminal Vladimir Putin.

He's indicted, dumbass, not convicted of anything. Further , nobody of note recognizes the court, not Russia, not the US, not China- not even Ukraine.
