Except that they are invaluable to the political campaigns. Why do you think Trump is spending so much time in PA and the other swing states the last few days? The people that run the campaigns would not spend the large sums of money on polls if they thought they were pointless.
Legion says polls over sample Democrats but doesn't realize more people identify as Democrats and therefore more should be included in the sample to be representative.
I think that illustrates the polls weren't pointless. One reason the race tightens up is because the polls showed the campaigns the states, regions, and groups they needed to work on to increase their support.
If that's what you think, you aren't thinking.
