I pledged I would end this war

I wasn't going bonkers; I was saying BOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSHHHH!!!!

And you didn't answer my question about why you worship him so much.

My analogy was perfect. The decision to invade Iraq was one of the worst foreign policy blunders of modern times, and Bush (your messiah) made it.

are you on drugs? because you're displaying craziness that is even far out for you....

your analogy has no merit....and i am willing to bet you have never nor will ever say the same about afghanistan...you will likely claim it a success and praise obama from the mountain tops...

obama didn't end this war, he just happen to be on the watch tower and call it in

My analogy is perfect. Bush created the mess with Iraq. Do you dispute that? How is my analogy inappropriate?

Afghanistan & Iraq are apples & oranges, Yurt. Now THAT is a bad analogy, no matter how many times you attempt it.

as i thought...you will excuse obama's escalation in afghanistan, where deaths will occur and infastructure destoyed just like iraq, because you're biased....

that is why anything you say is invalid....if you accept afghanistan's losses....so must you accept iraq's....

Where did I excuse Obama's escalation in Afghanistan? Where have I said anything about Obama in Afghanistan?

As I thought, you would try to make this about me & Obama, instead of answering the question of why you worship Bush like a God. And you would avoid the fact that Bush made the decision to invade Iraq.

Typical Bush worshipper.

answer the question...why do you beat your dog

moron

no really....why do you beat your dog?

Where have I spoken about my dog on the board? There is no logic to your question.

With Bush, however, every other post out of you is blind worship of one of the most incompetent Presidents in history - defending his missteps at every turn, praising his magnificence & crediting him with everything since sliced bread.

So, once again - why the worship? Why the adoration?

your second sentence finally gets my point...hopefully the drugs won't hinder your ability to comprehend it

Ill happily give Bush credit for starting the war... He gets partial credit for starting the process of ending it.

Iraq was a clusterfuck from the start. We would not have needed the surge if Bush and Rumsfeld had listened to some of their generals in the first place and gone in with a huge force. The surge was needed to overcome the stupidity of the thing in the first place. That being said, the left said the surge would not succeed. Hell, I was skeptical, but I was proved wrong. The surge is the reason we were able to leave before December 2011.

Iraq and Afghanistan are apples and oranges, and Afghanistan is the clusterfuck it is because the Reagan administration dropped the ball after the Soviets left. We created a void, could have filled that void with new schools and infrastructure which MIGHT have made it harder for the Taliban to gain a political monopoly. I am not saying it would have surely done that, but all attempts to continue funding Afghanistan were killed after the Soviets left. Modern wars are never won without some follow through to stabilize the country that is left at the end. The Marshall plan proved that point. Unfortunately, I am not sure that any Islamic nation can be put right again by western governments and this point in history. The people don't trust us and the governments play both sides to insure their existence.

That would be Saddam... when he invaded Kuwait.
This is true, but for all his nastiness, he did control the elements of radical Islam within his borders. His time there may eventually be recalled as the last time Iraq was not a fundamentalist Islamic country.

yes, amazing how torture, rape and murder can control the radicals (not to mention your average citizens).

I know many still believe that Iraq will turn into another Iran and that could indeed come true. Personally, I think the combination of the secular Iraq under Saddam and the freedoms being tasted now by the populace will win out in the end.

But those are not the reasons we went to Iraq. Christ we supported an El Salvadoran government that did all that. We were upset when the Samosa government in Nicaragua was overthrown and they were rapists, murderers and torturers as well. I am all for getting rid of those types of governments but do you really want to send US troops to ALL of them.

As I have stated many times... I am not saying Bush's reasons for going into Iraq were the right ones... he obviously used the reason he felt would generate the fear that would create the support for his decision to go in. But that does not alter the fact that what I stated was true.

No, I do not want to send US troops everywhere a dictator (abusive regime) exists. I think we should however go into locations where ethnic cleansing or mass murder is occurring. ie... Darfur, Rwanda, Congo etc...

There you go....you might as well add in that we lost the Vietnam war because of Nixon and we couldn't beat the N. Koreans because of Ike....
and there must be some Republicans you can blame for Pearl Harbor, Lincoln for the Civil War and ??? for the Revolution.....

A classic example of jumping in front of a parade and shouting that you are the "leader"...

He gets some credit for following the "law of the land" as written in the agreement that Bush negotiated.

What did Obama say, exactly, that indicated to you that he was taking too much "credit"?
