I think he was abused as an adult and probably by his job.
The "retirement" was really a severance pay, to get him out of the company.

No doubt there could be a lot of truth to what you type; one thing is certain, he isn't a graduate of anything based on his third grade vocabulary and grammar and lives in squalor at the trailer park he calls home toking on his bong way too often to do anything that could be mistaken for thinking.
