I like Christie's style.

"We're going to crush labor as a political entity"
Grover Norquist - Republican economic guru and co-author of the GOP's 'Contract with America'

Such disdain and animosity toward hard working Americans. People on this board 'claim' you are not right wing...yet you exhibit the classic character markers of a right wing authoritarian follower on so many issues.

The American workers are the MOST productive in the world. And Republicans and their empty headed minions want to CRUSH the working man and women and create an aristocracy.

If you think Grover Norquist is only talking about crushing 'union' workers, you are in for a HUGE surprise...

The folks that fawn over Christie's arrogant and dismissive 'style' will only have a personal epiphany when it's THEIR job, pension and benefits Christie and the Republicans go after.

"To unequal privileges among members of the same society the spirit of our nation is, with one accord, adverse." --Thomas Jefferson to Hugh White, 1801. ME 10:258

this woman was not smarter than her 5th graders, she got what she deserved. For me it's not about right and left.
For a partisan hack economics moron like you left is always right.:fu:

Isn't it amazing how the folks on the right claim they are against government and for the people, but they ALWAYS gravitate and fawn over authoritarian assholes like Christie? They LOVE a president, senator or governor who demeans the working class people.

Christie ran on a platform that he would be an education governor, then he got elected and has made a frontal assault on New Jersey’s public schools and teachers.

Even his fans are bewildered by some of his more provocative comments — such as the one placing teachers on par with drug dealers by likening students being given budget information to take home to “drug mules.” ref

Bfgrn, in that video what was authoritarian about what he said?

What direction is the american eagle flying now left or right?
Which direction has the eagle been flying since the founding of this country?

REALLY? YOU can tell how smart she is by this video...HOW????

unppresidental...
that is the encounter with the teacher.

But what I saw last night I liked.

I saw a news conference with the NJ Gov. last night.

I got to say I like his honest style and kind approach. I disagree with his politics, but he is not harsh, hostile or mean about stating honestly what he belives.

The Republicans could nominate someone much worse.
Yeah Jughead...the Republicans need more people like the Democrats shown in this video.....start about the 2 minute mark to save time....

Bfgrn has problems with definitions. There is the real definition of a word and Brgrn's imaginary definition.

He calmly answered her questions and criticisms. He called her out for being rude, which I am sure is what got Bfgrns panties in a bunch. I personally found it refreshing as most politicians wouldn't have the courage to do that.

yes retarded questions

I transcribed her 'retarded' questions...please tell me what is 'retarded' about what she asked and said.

"Hi, my name is Marie Corfield, I am a teacher across the street. I wonder how your reforms are going to help the middle class, when so many middle class teachers have been layed off this year, and so many middle class teachers are spending tons of money out of their pockets to supplement the budgets that were cut, so that they can buy supplies. And so many parents are having to out lay more and more money now for programs that were originally paid for by the school districts.

And I'd also like to say, New Jersey has some of the best schools in the country, and this administration has done nothing but lambaste us and tell us what horrible schools we have. We have some failing schools, but the majority of our schools are wonderful and fantastic. And this school district has many of them.

And I feel like you have alienated so many people with your rhetoric about how we are bilking this state of all this money. When I'm a taxpayer, and because of the budget cuts you've implemented, I'm going to have a hard time paying my bills this year."

Ok, I'm missing how that question makes him an authoritarian.

It's the way he handled the situation. She asked her questions, and made her comments. She did not interrupt his response. He could have ignored her body language, but he had to ostracize, belittle and embarrass her. It was uncalled for. He claims he didn't lambaste the public school system. WHAT would call comparing teachers to drug dealers?

Authoritarians need to dismantle and destroy. They are not builders.

I guess everyone would handle that differently but he was only five seconds into his answer and she starts spinning her neck in the 'no you didint' (purposefully misspelled) way I can see why someone would say what he did.

The FIRST thing Christie said is he didn't lambaste the public school system. So tell me cawacko, WHAT would YOU call comparing teachers to drug dealers?

I have listened to this several times and I'm trying to figure out if I really agree with what he is saying or am agreeing just because I'm being biased. If what he is saying is accurate about how the kids are being used then yeah I understand the analogy. Maybe not one I would use but I get what he is saying.

He starts at the 2:15 mark and goes for about 35 seconds.

Some fat people got upset that I pointed out christy is fat.
Her questions sound vague and whimsy vs specific.

You bring up a legitimate question about his weight. Voters judge candidates on how they look. Height matters, weight matters, a full head of hair matters. I wouldn't say he can't win because of it but I also wouldn't argue that it helps him.
