I have a dream!

MLKJ had body guards. Beck has body guards. MLKJ did not take a bullet because he wanted to. Beck would not take a bullet because he wanted to either.

You are the fucking shill.
Really? How much was MLK being paid by Newscorp to promote their political views? Don't be such a sap ID.

Clearly if Dr. King were alive, Beck would be calling him a racist and Dr. King would not stoop so low as to appear on the same stage.
Why would Dr. King have to be alive ? You think Beck doesn't do it because hes dead?

If one of the keynote speakers is Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,....how low do you think she is....as low as Sen. Byrd....as low as Carl Rove.....as low as Connie Rice or Clarance Thomas....how about Mr. Steele...?

She certainly isn't as fuckin' low as you, thats for sure....you haven't even risen to pinhead status yet.

Beck has a contract because his views resonate. If he were alive today there would likley be a broadcast news org offering MLKJ a job...

Your comparisons and analogies are ridiculous and show you as a shill Mott...not Beck.

If MLK were alive today, he would probably be standing with his niece and Beck on the stage Saturday, and NOT with Rev. Al Sharpton, and his group of race baiters and bigots. Just my gut feeling, after listening to Alveda King's interview with Beck. Again, I encourage you all to listen to that... 8:14 will change your perspective of this event, if it doesn't, you are a shill and a hack, and there is no hope for you.

I hope the theem, "Restoring Honor" is addressed toward Beck himself, he is a dishonorable person in my opinion.

He uses fear and hate to promote a radical zenophobic agenda.

This is a man who called the President Of the United States a Racist! Something Dr. King, I assure you, never did!

The Obama is a racist: "typical white woman...".

Does anyone here really think that Beck would take a bullet over principle like MLK did or do you think at the first indication of being in harms way he'd cash in his golden parachute and take a hike?

Beck is a corporate shill. A hired pitch man. He's in it for a buck and God bless him though that's the American way, it aint the fucking same as being willing to die over a moral principle. I mean for fucks sakes even O'Reilly is laughing at him over this stunt.

Personally, I find it sad and pathetic, that he would chose this time for his little flim, flam act and that he would detract from honoring a truely great American.

Shame on you Glenn Beck!
Ad homs, nothing more.

Very true. 15ppMoot conveniently forgets that back in the 1960s we had the "[un]fairness doctrine", which made political speech on the air nearly impossible! Thank God for Ronald Reagan eliminating that stupid law. :good4u:

His status is different now that he has died for his cause, people become canonized when killed for a cause...

Much like with John Kennedy, criticism has become the third rail of politics. Beck calls Pres. Obama a racist!!!

SNIP

"Clarence B. Jones, who served as King's personal attorney and his speechwriter, said he believes King would not be offended by Beck's rally but "pleased and honored" that a diverse group of people would come together, almost five decades later, to discuss the future of America.

Jones, now a visiting professor at Stanford University, said the Beck rally seemed to be tasteful and did not appear to distort King's message, which included a recommitment to religious values.

Both groups heard from members of the King family.

Alveda King, a niece of the civil rights leader, appealed to Beck rally participants to "focus not on elections or on political causes but on honor, on character ... not the color of our skin."

Martin Luther King III said at the site of the planned memorial that his father in 1967 and 1968 "was focused on economic empowerment. He did not live to see that come to fruition." King added, "We have made great strides, but somehow we've got to create a climate so that everybody can do well, not just some."
