I guess we don't need a fairness doctrine

I believe that the appearance of some things should be avoided. Please note "appearance".

Note that in each phrase you quoted of mine, except the one where I was using hyperbole, I used a noun that you refuse to read or attempt to comprehend. It changes the meaning of the sentence when you actually see the word, read it, and comprehend what was stated.

I know you practice persistent and purposeful "miscomprehension" (newly coined word), especially of my posts, but this is getting to the level of stupid.

I think the Press should work a bit more towards at least the appearance of being separate.

It's not just that Damo, It's the fact that they are silencing the other side of the debate. That's propaganda any way you look at it! This is a very critical issue to our nation and for this administration to be so insincere as to only present their so called facts on the matter is so antithetical to who we are as a representative government as to be unfathomable!

the lamestream media has become an enemy to conservative Republicans..

we need to get this out to the American kids..

they have become worse than Pravda.

True, I haven't placed enough emphasis on the fact that the flip-side will be refused a voice in this "special" incursion. I thought it was understood that it was what underlined the appearance (note appearance) of the "official" news source.

I was speaking generally, not at you, sorry that it appeared that way. So far today I've argued with Onceler about congressional oversight, and now I see the beginning of the official government news...

Ugh. It's a bad morning.

Are you kidding?

We've had official government news for almost 8 years now.

Remember all those phony "news" pieces put together by the Bush White House?

its funny how the left bashes on fox for being biased, yet is utterly silent and some have outright defended this clear bias in the news. this is not a "news" story, it is propaganda masquerading as "news"...that should alarm anyone here and ring some history bells

I'm not taking issue with your position on the war (and I understand why you want to parade around with that particular feather in your cap, but please try to stay on topic) but surely you remember the way the press treated President Bush before he became unpopular.

What we have here is nothing new and it sure as shit isn't unique to Obama. That is all.

So you have an example where a station just turned their broadcast over to President Bush!!

If this were a GOP administration taking on... oh let's say SS, and they had a major network presenting "the facts" and refused the "other facts" to be likewise voiced combined with a majority control of the government?...the leftist critics would be howling!

This is my real problem with this as well. It is ok that the press wants to cover the president's plan but to not cover opposing viewpoints is negligent. We are a representative democracy and when all sides are not represented WE THE PEOPLE cannot make an educated and informed decision. The only argument I have heard so far is, "the press did this for Bushes war too." The "they did it for him too" argument sucks and everyone knows it. Christ in a Sidecar, I voted for this guy too but I am tired of being the talk show president. If he wants to sell this to me then I need to hear the other guys sales pitch as well. One side of an argument cannot inform us.
