I DON'T GEDDIT ??!!

If the election is between Biden and Trump in November 2024, the American people will have a choice, Old vs Crazy, I would take old anyday over crazy?!!

Biden is OLD and CRAZY and CORRUPT.

From a pragmatic standpoint, that tax policy makes no sense. Rich dollars do not accelerate. Poor dollars do. It's simple economics. We want to see more consumer spending. You won't do it by cutting spending. You do it by targeting spending on those who are most likely to use the money to grow the economy. If we are cutting spending, we need to start with defense. I understand the need to reform entitlements, but again, that needs to be mainly done by taxing the rich. I don't need to make the 'fairness' argument. From a practical standpoint, the growing wage wealth gap is unsustainable. Governments role in that is to ensure that wealth is distributed differently. Call it whatever you want. It's basic math and economics, but Americans, especially those on the right, don't have a sixth grade understanding of economics, and are too lazy to learn.

Clinton came the closest to achieving it since maybe Nixon and it didn't hurt at all.
I'd only go for that until we got back to responsible spending, IOW a true balanced budget.
I mention Nixon because even w/ the Vietnam War we somehow had a balanced budget or close to it. And we had it for decades before that. Once we hit 1980 we've been out of control. It'd hurt only until there sanity returned. But I know that'll never happen. Pubs and dims both are too obsessed w/ insane spending.

Republicans only think that deficits are a problem when Democratic presidents are in office.
Yet, when Republican presidents are in office, they substantially increase the deficit.
President Clinton left office with a budget surplus of $236.2 billion.
President Obama inherited a historically high deficit at the time from President Bush and
then cut it in half by the time he left office. Now President Biden has proposed a budget that
reduces the deficit more in 2022 than any year in U.S. history.

Again, from a pragmatic point of view, you get to that point much faster by redistributing. The Laffer curve is myth. Voodoo economics was the correct term. Putting people back to work by providing them with daycare, paid leave, etc. will increase tax revenues. So will the spending that occurs as a result. The single most effective government program from the standpoint of acceleration is unemployment payments. Trumps tax cuts were a disaster, because they targeted the exact wrong individuals and corporations.

In any case, the difference between you and the Trumpers is that you and I want the same thing, we just disagree on how to get there. I want to go back to having those debates instead of battling an authoritarian wannabee who wants to use the office for his own personal gain. I feel very strongly that if we don't stop that, the rest doesn't matter.
