A federal safety board called for a nationwide ban on the use of cell phones and text messaging devices while driving.

The recommendation is the most far-reaching yet by the National Transportation Safety Board, which in the past 10 years has increasingly sought to limit the use of portable electronic devices -- recommending bans for novice drivers, school bus drivers and commercial truckers.

Tuesday's recommendation, if adopted by states, would outlaw non-emergency phone calls and texting by operators of every vehicle on the road.

It would apply to hands-free as well as hand-held devices, but devices installed in the vehicle by the manufacturer would be allowed, the NTSB said.

The recommendation would not affect passengers' rights to use such devices.

For the benefit of dumbass knee-jerk righties with reading and comprehension issues:

says the retard who made the thread about the FEDERAL government and obama

tff how you are afraid to debate me, but will throw in cowardly posts like the above

And if Bush had pushed for it, libtards would have marched on DC, complaining about their 1st amendment rights, civil rights and what ever else you could think of. Hey how about we ban cellphones from any one not 21 years of age, I am sure my nanny state of California would buy into it.

Probably. But since the recommendation was made on Obamas' watch, you're opposed to it, right, Webbsy?

The laws requiring hands-free only use of cell phones was a waste of paper. The act of holding the cell phone is not the danger. The attention granted to t he call is what is the danger.

Maybe that's why the NTSB recommendation would apply to hands-free as well as hand-held devices...

Bout freaken time. Don't know how many times I've about been killed by some idiot yacking on a cell phone. Long over due if you ask me.

It's only a recommendation, and the righties are already lining up to oppose it because it was made public while Obama is president....BTW texting while driving is an even bigger distraction IMO.

Conservatives like DY think any form of oral sex is perverted and should be illegal...
Oh that's just sick! Where to these perverts come from?

Maybe he doesn't like hummers cause he's never had one performed on him by someone truly talented in the art?

If that's the case maybe we should introduce him to Governor Perry. God knows he's one hell of a cocksucker! ;)

LOL, the conservatards are seething with rage because "Obama banned cell phones", just as I predicted they would.

Now we get to laugh as they try to defend distracted driving as a "right"...

The shitty drivers (i.e. the type of people who promote the bans) are always defacto distracted, so what should we do about them?

We can't fix all the shitty drivers. But we can do something to try and keep at least some of the irresponsible idiots from killing other people.
