I received my second vaccination today, I was given the Moderna vaccine. When your group is called, you really should take the vaccine. We got to get too, herd immunity!

If you already got your COVID-19 vaccine, are you wondering when the immunity kicks in and how long it lasts? Can you still catch COVID-19 and can you infect others? How long do you need to take precautions after vaccination? WHO’s Dr Kate O’ Brien answers one Science in 5.

don't you think you should have asked all these question BEFORE getting the vaccine?

I think I've already gotten the virus a few times*already. I may not even need a shot when my turn comes up?

When can we expect herd immunity for COVID-19?
COVID-19 is a very contagious disease. A large percentage of the population will need to be immune against the disease (through infection or vaccination) before herd immunity will be achieved. It is not known when that will happen, but it will depend on how many people develop immunity after COVID-19 infection, how soon a COVID-19 vaccine is widely available to the general public, and how many people get vaccinated. Throughout this time period until herd immunity is achieved, it is very important to continue to wear masks in public and social distance to slow the spread of COVID-19.

It takes about a week before you build up the resistance. It is not the kind that injects a weak form of the illness.

I got my first shot on Feb. 13 (Moderna also)...and am scheduled for second shot in mid March.

Stay safe. Keep the regular safety protocols for a while yet. 6' distance, face masks, stay away from indoor meetings with people you do not know.'

We are going to get out of this thing now that we have someone with a brain in the Oval Office.

I received my second vaccination today,
Good for you.

I was given the Moderma vaccine.
The company is called Moderna... (I'll assume that you made a typo).

When your group is called, you really should take the vaccine.
No, I absolutely will NOT be taking any covid related vaccine (but especially the mRNA type that you received).

We got to get too, herd immunity!
I think you meant "to", not "too", and you do not need a comma in the middle. Herd immunity is a result of disease exposure, not of vaccine exposure. I suggest asking yourself why the WHO has recently changed their definition of "herd immunity" from being disease exposure related to being vaccine exposure related...

If you already got your COVID-19 vaccine, are you wondering when the immunity kicks in and how long it lasts?
Vaccines do not grant immunity.

Can you still catch COVID-19
Yes.

and can you infect others?
IF you are infected with it...

How long do you need to take precautions after vaccination? [deleted expert worship]
There is no need for "precautions" outside of typical hygiene practices and typical methods of boosting one's immune system.

But... but the WHO has recently changed their definition of "herd immunity" to refer to vaccinations rather than pathogen exposure... ;) ;) ;) ;)

SUCCUMB TO LEFTIST STUPIDITY!!!!! ;) ;)
