Hundreds of Macy's, Sears & Kmart stores closing soon....

Hmm, maybe 10 years since I've been in a Sears, 25 or so since I've been in a Kmart, and I don't think I've ever been in a Macy's. These aren't jobs that can be saved, they are not going overseas, they are just going away. Businesses, even long established ones, don't always last. This isn't something a president can stop, you foppish moron.

Those companies have genuine competition, lol! Online shopping companies have cut into traditional retail stores' share of the market (Amazon, etc.). Wal-Mart has been posing problems for K-Mart for years now...

When did Trump say he was going to save the free market from itself? :palm:

in a real economy, losers know when to get out of the game and find a new gig. they will make plenty on the property value. I hate to see sears go. I made a living from sears for a decade. I made a hell of a lot more for them than I made for me. sears has been pretty sad for a couple of decades.

Never been to Macy's. K(ame ap)art has sold crap with poor service for decades and I only go there to buy garden products, and only because they are closer than Lowes and have a separate cashier in that area. Sears lost me long ago with their poor service- I only go there for Craftsman tools when Kobalt doesn't have what I need.

Big box brick and mortar has been on the downturn for decades since they have not changed with the times. They make it difficult to buy stuff; Amazon makes it easy.
 
This coincides with Sear's announcement that they have sold their Craftsman brand to Black and Decker because they need cash. My wife said this morning that's like someone selling their kidney.

B&D stuff is pretty amazing. Often 1/2 the price of "professional" grade products. I've often bought their stuff with the intention of using it on one job and throwing it away. However the stuff still worked as new after the job, so I still have it. I have a "cheap" B&D belt sander that is 25 years old...
