Of course, Jones will have a lot of laughing ahead, as will those who perform that monstrously expensive, untested quack "therapy" on that baby, to be used as a much anticipated guinea-pig, and the baby, the parents, and their story can be exploited to denigrate the evil shoshialized health care - a.k.a. "death panels" - so as to keep the rubes agitated. Snake oil, both the medical and the propagandistic varieties, never goes out of fashion. That would be a win-win-win, just as the Trumpy promised.

What stops these folks from heading over to the states with their checkbook to enjoy the full effect of "consumer empowered health care"?

My reading suggests that the ruling ruled that out in order to reduce the kid's suffering, and they'd need life support throughout to get the kid over the lake, and the NHS declined to provide it.

What stops them from contracting with a med flight on their own?

I guess the problem is that the hospital won't release the kid if it believes he will be subjected to further suffering....

the hospital will not release the child. They will not even let him go home after refusing to provide treatment.

Given the court's ruling, I guess no med service would do that flight.

As to the latter, some Dirty Harry wannabe on this thread had the solution to that, dad going in guns ablaze, "liberating" the kid - so that it can die somewhere on the way to the plane chartered to access "consumer empowered health care" in the U.S.
