HUD ends mortgages and home loans to illegals

Should have been done a long time ago. HUD (eg., Fanny Mae and Freddy Mack among others) will no longer give mortgages or home loans to persons who are in the US illegally.

This means that short of an illegal having cash for a home purchase they won't be able to buy real estate anymore.

Another blow is struck against illegal immigration! :good4u:

They are illegals who have no legal right to be in America.

You should eventually learn that it is a dead issue, decided by the American people last November.

No, Earl. Many Americans who voted for Trump voted to deport illegals who are violent criminals, or who have committed other crimes while in America. Not ALL illegals.

We have millions here who are long-established members of their communities, and who work & contribute. I'm kind of amazed that you don't seem to be aware of that, since immigration seems to be an important issue for you.

They are demons.

In 2022, undocumented immigrants contributed nearly $100 billion in taxes to federal, state, and local economies, paying roughly $9,000 per person.

I mean, think about this - $100 billion in taxes.

It's so short-sighted to just advocate for deporting every single one of them.

EDIT: I had meant to type "aren't" on that, and fixed it. But I'm glad you saw that & posted this stat.

Many - probably most - do not engage in criminal behavior here in the U.S. It's misleading to characterize them this way.
100% have engaged in criminal behavior here in the US. That's what being here ILLEGALLY means. That is a 100% accurate characterization of them.

Illegal entry or overstaying a visa is a crime
Using false ID, social security number, identity theft is a crime
Gaining employment while illegally in the US is a crime
If the employer that hired you knows you're here illegally, then you are in a conspiracy, that too is a crime.

Is illegally entering the country a criminal offense, or a civil offense?

It's a civil offense for first timers.

They're not criminals.

You were wrong.
...attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact, shall, for the first commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both...

It depends on how you entered.

Did you not characterize all of them as criminals?
Yes. And, they are. Illegal entry isn't the only crime they commit to stay in the US. For example, someone here illegally is not allowed to enter into employment. If they use false pretenses to do so that is a second crime.

Individual attestation of employment authorization
The individual must attest, under penalty of perjury on the form designated or established for purposes of paragraph (1), that the individual is a citizen or national of the United States, an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien who is authorized under this chapter or by the Attorney General to be hired, recruited, or referred for such employment. Such attestation may be manifested by either a hand-written or an electronic signature.

That works out to (at $9,000 a head) to 11 million illegals. I'd say the number in the US is closer to 25 or 30 million today. Aside from that, illegals are estimated to remit out of the US to their home countries about $150 billion a year now. So, for every dollar in taxes they pay in, the US is losing fifty cents on the dollar from its GDP in wire transfers.

Then tack on another $150 billion in enforcement against illegals meaning another loss in tax revenue overall.

Overall, illegal immigration is a net loss to the US economy, a drain.
