How young is "significantly younger" than 17?

The way I remember it is that MAGAs spent decades being extremely critical of teen unwed mothers in the black community and they implied it was a sign of moral decline.

But when white teens from MAGA families are impregnated, they cheer it as an example of the moral superiority of white conservative rural communities

just like malcolm x, and louis farrakhan, and montel.

Blacks trap themselves into low class with the help of Dims and welfare for life

They are the biggest group with a mom that has 6 kids by 4 or 5 different fathers and 3 of those are in prison

Actually, anyone of any race with marginal job skills, mediocre education, lack of initiative and motivation, and low intellect--but primarily lack of initiative and motivation--can get hooked on endless 'welfare for life' type programs. This sort is perfectly content to be doing little or nothing in return for getting a pile of money each month from the government...

Lauran Boebert has announced that she will be a 36 year old grandmother, just like her own mother was a 36 year old grandmother. Her 17 year old son got a girl pregnant. No word on the girl's exact age, but she is "significantly younger" than Boebert's 17 year old son, and not in high school yet...

Boebart is acting like this is a great thing. I simply do not understand Republican values.

There is no Values to Republican mentality- just as they do not have any respect for any of the consequences of any of their actions or in-actions.

But abortion is one option that should always be discussed and considered by all parties and families of the teens when teen sex ends up in an unwanted pregnancy- MOST ESPECIALLY FOR GIRLS STILL IN JR. HIGH SCHOOL!

This is the reason why the Red States all have the highest Teenage Pregnancy rates of all states, and often times, the highest illegal Abortion rates as well.

There is no welfare for life. Half on it leave it within a year. 70 percent within 2. 90 percent within 5. Many states have time limits. Michigan is 4 years in a lifetime.

I was 18 when my first child was born. My wife was 37 when she became a grandmother. We're not unusual...sure you wanna roll with this?

My eldest sister got married at 20, had her first daughter a few weeks before she turned 21. Very nasty divorce, she ended up with sole custody of her daughters, which I think was a good thing considering the circumstances. She's now 45 and her own daughters, now 24 and 19, still have no children of their own, but had my eldest niece had a child at 17, my sister could also have been a grandmother at 37. I personally think they made the right call- it's just not that easy making money these days. My eldest niece has certainly struggled with doing so and it seems my younger one still has issues there as well. Fortunately, my mother has an inheretence with which she's helped my sister and her 2 daughters out.

I'm 47 and still have no children of my own. Most of my life I haven't even had a partner. I think it's for the best as I've also struggled with earning money myself.

I disagree that republicans have no values, but I'm generally leftish when it comes to sexuality issues. I agree that abortion should be an option, especially for girls still in jr. high school, as you say. I haven't seen the figures for myself, but I expect that you're right when it comes to red states having the highest teen pregnancy rates and the highest illegal abortion rates as well.

I decided to read a few articles on this story, will quote from 2 of them below...

**
A 2019 study published in the American Journal of Public Health found that teen pregnancies in rural areas tend to be unintended and may be higher because teens may be vulnerable to "local conditions that limit unintended pregnancy management options."

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that only about 50% of teen mothers receive a high school diploma by 22, compared to 90% of women who do not give birth during high school. "The children of teenage mothers are more likely to have lower school achievement and to drop out of high school, have more health problems, be incarcerated at some time during adolescence, give birth as a teenager, and face unemployment as a young adult," according to the CDC.

The CDC recommends providing teens with sexual education and other resources to prevent teen pregnancies.

Boebert at CPAC called to cut funding to schools that provide comprehensive sex education because there are schools "that are teaching worse than just gender ideology."

"They have comprehensive sex ed. They're teaching kids how to have and enjoy sex, and even same-sex sex, how to pleasure themselves," she said. "This is not something elementary students should learn, nor any student in a public school...These are the things that we need to go after and cut their funding."

Lauren Boebert trashes sex-ed — then announces teen son is making her a “36-year-old grandmother” | salon.com

I don't know what sex ed Lauren Boebert's son had, but I suspect that he wasn't taught much in regards to condoms or other contraceptives. Perhaps one day we'll get the whole story.

In any case, Lauren Boebert certainly has experience with the hard choices that teen mothers have to make, having made some herself:

The far-right lawmaker told the Durango Herald in 2020 that she dropped out of high school to raise Tyler.

“I was a brand-new mom, and I had to make hard decisions on successfully raising my child, or getting to high school biology class,” she said. “And I chose to take care of my child.”

Boebert earned her GED before being elected to congress in 2020.

"Old Enough to Bleed, Old Enough to Breed"

Mary was 14 when she gave birth to Jesus. Juliet in Shakespeare's play was 13, which is actually stated in the text.

Mary was 14 when she gave birth to Jesus

“Jesus, son of Pantera”
About 177 AD the Greek philosopher Celsus, in his book ‘The True Word’, expressed what appears to have been the consensus Jewish opinion about Jesus, that his father was a Roman soldier called Pantera. ‘Pantera’ means Panther and was a fairly common name among Roman soldiers. Jesus is referred to as “Yeshu ben Pantera”.

Fortunately, the teen birth rate is an all-time low. Its peak was 1959.

"Over the past three decades, that has become increasingly common in the U.S., as birthrates have declined for women in their 20s and jumped for women in their late 30s and early 40s, according to a new report from the U.S. Census Bureau. The trend has pushed the median age of U.S. women giving birth from 27 to 30, the highest on record."

Good trends. In addition, sex ed and availability of birth control are the best ways to stop abortion.

I like it when we can all agree on the things that are considered mainstream issues and concerns.

I do not mean to be insulting to my Republican Friends by calling them out on Moral issues.

But the problem is, these new state laws that are banning abortions are also banning along with them, the medicines and treatments that go along with miscarriage and other pregnancy issues. It has turned into a war between Trump Supporters and Pregnant women now.

But, this is the kind of stuff that is causing many women voters to now vote with the Democrats.

So, at some point the states will be reversing these outrageous new laws. I think they may well be short-lived, because no one that passed them, thought about the consequences before just hastily passing them as if to try and own the libs!

As for Boebert, I don't have a problem that she is under-educated- I do have a problem with her when she is chasing Q Conspiracy Theories, and not using good common sense!

One has to be pretty much mentally challenged to not use common sense!

Agreed.

I don't know about them being short-lived, but we can hope.

Other than this story, I don't really know much about Boebert. The only other thing I know about her is that I agreed with the push of her and a few other republicans to give congress members more power.

Boebart is acting like this is a great thing. I simply do not understand Republican values.

They don't believe in aborting simple youthful mistakes.

They want to stick a little girl with a baby
and a baby with a little girl for a mother.

This is consistent with their family values.
Nobody in my circle of acquaintances thinks this way, but then again,
I don't live in rural America.

Folks Nifty is the POS Lib that stated a 13 yo child should get high fives after having sex with a 30 yo

Nobody in my circle of acquaintances thinks this way, but then again,
I don't live in Blue America.

So having no defense against the issues with Boebert, you turn to violations of rule 12b. It is just sad.

The Democrats have been trying to raise the age of consent and the age of marriage.

Walt, truth here. No one in their right mind would ever have a modern day democrat babysit their children. Not even other democrats. You may go now. Unless you can explain why that is not true. Be specific. Otherwise face what is coming to you.
