If Rick Perry is elected, will he solve the issue of poverty?

He won't. We've been waging the "War on Poverty" for how long now? We've dumped Trillions after Trillions onto that and still there is poverty. My bet is Poverty just isn't going to capitulate or surrender and they will always be flying their flag over the State of Poverty... The State of Poverty is where all good empires go to war that hastens their death... People think that Afghanistan is the Empire killer... But every empire fought a "War on Poverty", not every empire went to Afghanistan...

At this point in the last election cycle, Rudy Giuliani was in the lead, followed by Fred Thompson... McCain was pulling a distant fourth... It seems that predicting who will be the nominee based on who is leading now is a bit premature...

yet when others do, you claim ODS. you double standard is noted. and 3 threads in five hours and of course you don't think it is PDS. you're a hack.

No. You have a hard time w/ concepts & differences.

When others ridicule Obama and exaggerate about him to put him in a more negative light, they have ODS. Not when they merely ask a question, without some sort of clear inference.

Sorry that this one didn't work out for you, like so many others. Your desperation is noted, though.

can obama solve poverty? he is the president and we still have poverty. is he or anyone capable of solving it?

According to the most recent census numbers from 2010, approximately 1 in 6 Americans are impoverished. That's 46.2 million people, up from 43.6 million in 2009 — 15.1 percent of the population were below the poverty line last year, the highest percentage since 1983.

The downward spiral of the middle class also continues apace; median household income in the U.S. fell 2.3% in 2010 from a year ago, to $49,445.

And the number of people lacking health insurance increased to 49.9 million last year, largely due to people getting laid off and losing their benefits.

Anyone without health insurance who needs medical attention should go die politely, as the crowd roars.

The U.S. set the official poverty threshold in 2010 at an income level of $11,139 for one person and $22,314 for a family of four.

Those levels are laughably low, so we're going to assume there are many millions more across America feeling bitterly impoverished right now.

And all that happening with a President who had a super majority in both houses of congress and a blank check to spend on "stimulus" who got everything he wanted in those first two years... Trillions spent to "or save" a "whole bunch" of jobs (yeah, he really has said they've saved a "whole bunch of them").

How's that working for ya?

damo, all this happened since the tea party took office in january. before that, jobs were everywhere, life was perfect.

no. are you really suggesting i bump threads as much as legion? do you ever not lie?

Ah...so it's a question of his bumping threads more than you? And you're still yelping about thread-bumping all of the time?

Got it. No hypocrisy there.

As for the honesty, stop projecting. I don't completely fabricate statements from others on a daily (almost hourly) basis....
