peoria illinois cop under order of protection, still allowed to have a gun on duty

judge has ordered a Peoria police officer to stay away from a fellow officer for two years and barred him from having a weapon when he is off duty.

if this cop is such a danger that he cannot have a weapon OFF duty, why is he allowed to be ON duty at all?
