In the 2022 mid-term 52% of college graduates voted Democratic. 52% of college educated white males voted Republican. It appears political indoctrination is closely divided between the two parties. Most did not change their party identification during their college years.

Some were brash enough to point out the backwoodiness and hayseediness of conservatives on a regular basis, which was particularly angering. Others were more subtle in their jabs. But they were there…leaving no doubt where their alliances were.

I had two female math instructors and one English instructor who were mum as to their political leanings. I always suspected it was because they were conservative but I had no proof of such, of course.
 
Lots of people in my circle dont think that Universities in the main can be saved, that they will crash and burn, they are too far gone.

Jordan Peterson was saying that way back, at least three years ago, but this outlook is gaining a lot of converts.

Your college did you a disservice if their instructors were openly discussing their personal politics on class time.

The only overt personal political statement I remember a professor saying on class time was his dismay the day the 1991 Gulf War started.

Since you work in the world of academia, how ubiquitous are these diversity statements professors have to write for getting a job?

This is my understanding of how diversity statements work. It doesn't matter if you are applying for a job in the science department, you have a write a diversity statement as part of your application. The gist of it is this, if you are non-white you of course write about how white supremacy and oppression has affected you. If you are a white woman you write how you've both benefited from white privilege and suffered at the hands of the patriarchy. A white male writes how he recognizes his privilege and will not allow it to affect how he teaches and interacts with diverse student groups.

I've always stayed away from the argument that schools indoctrinate because I don't believe it. That was until this. This is pure political ideology. Answer this diversity question in any way other than what they want/expect and your chances of getting the job are now slim to none. Making a P.C./woke (for those saying we should all be woke this is it in action) comment about diversity has nothing to do with ones ability to understand and teach science.

the lost confidence is on blatant display from most of the left leaning idiots who went to college and got bachelor of arts degrees that can barely, if ever, be used in productive society.....thus causing MORE government dollars and increased personal taxes on the rest of us.......and we all know how you leftie fucks love being taxed.

Interesting. The most ridiculously leftist professor I had was as an undergrad, an astronomy class, which obviously had nothing to do with politics. But this guy would spend 15 minutes of every lecture venting his hatred of Ronald Reagan trying to pimp support for the Sandinistas he dearly loved. That was at Cal Poly Pomona. Come to think of it, I didn't have a lot of women professors at Poly.

What good will a degree be, if dolts like you do away with tests, especially the SAT's for entrance; do away with grades, do away with any assessment of whether the materials are absorbed by the student. All so the unqualified and stupid, those like you, can assuage their egos by being handed a degree that they could NEVER earn?
