Yes. Sham malpractice cases, and legitimate case where the awards are ridiculously high, are common. That causes prices to rise throughout the system.

American health care workers have to make so much more to pay for their malpractice insurance.

And the waivers are all about limited benefit plans. The law prohibits insurers (and employers or unions offering insurance to their employees and their members) from capping annual benefits and the like. The waivers temporarily allow unions, employers and insurers to continued offering plans with annual caps and the like on the grounds that limited health insurance is better than none at all.

Then how exactly can people support the American health care system with that many incompetent doctors?

I think it is much more then that.

Whats the point of having malpractice insurance, if they keep jacking up malpractice insurance costs?

Its like auto Insurance, we pay, we pay, we pay, and we get into an accident and our rates go up? What have we been paying insurance for all these years? To keep the insurers wealthy of course.

Also I hear most doctors are covered by the Hospital Insurance.

Also I hear that a doc makes about lets say 250K a year. And if he would have to pay lets say 50K a year? Rather then take it out of his pay and still walk away with 200K. He passes it down to the consumer to cover his incompetent butt.

Can you imagine if we could pass down our expenses? Yet that is capitalism in a nut shell. And you wonder why the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

Very few are incompetent, and all humans make mistakes. But we have a system were parasitic lawyers sue, hoping to settle quickly, because the defense costs alone can be $500,000 for a small case.

Some doctors are covered by the hospital's insurance; it depends on their contract. But so what? The cost of health care is still affected.

Mostly rich kids enter the field.And I would imagine they get special treatment.

The rich always favor the rich. Look at the idiots like george bush that make it into Yale, or Harvard. These are the idiots that end up running the nation?

Your statement is in contradiction. If there were very few incompetent Doctors, there wouldn't be so many law suits against them.

Don't you know the claim will always be higher, because they KNOW the company is obligated to pay? And the car owner doesn't care because it doesn't come out of his pocket. Though when paying cash money? The car owner will bring his car where he gets the best deal.

First you state that lawsuits are due to incompetent doctors then you admit that the legal system is "one of the most corrupt institutes in the world". :palm:

Next you insist that hospitals are cheating the private insurance companies, yet offer no evidence to support your conclusion. And, your initial argument is for ObamaCare, which would create a huge government insurance company. What makes you think that the hospitals wouldn't cheat the government?

This is testimony of the corrupt justice institution in America. These Lawyers pretend like they are helping the less fortunate but what they are really doing is lining their pockets at the expense of the tax payer, divorced men and business men.

I'm speaking of incompetence in the medical field.

Is there that many incidents? If so then there is something VERY wrong with your Medical education, or Hospital Procedures.......

WOW! I looked further into what you stated and this is what I found. Its seems the information you provided is MIS-information. And is not the reason doctors order expensive exams.

They do so because the Insurance companies usually cut people off before they receive the proper attention> WOW! How inhumane!

Again. The main reason I do not like OBAMACARE? It still leaves too much power to the insurance companies.

I say remove the middle man which are insurance companies and I want the government to run health care.
