How to avoid Obamacare......

Last year, we learned that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had granted 111 waivers to protect a lucky few from the onerous regulations of the new national health care overhaul.

That number quickly and quietly climbed to 222,

And last week we learned that the number of Obamacare privileged escapes has skyrocketed to 733.

How can you get your own free pass from Obamacare? Maybe you can just donate $27 million to President Obama‘s campaign efforts. That’s what Andy Stern did as president of SEIU in 2008. He has been the most frequent guest at Mr. Obama‘s White House.

Yeah them thar Unions have such little power and influence /sarcam

You'd have to be foolish to avoid Obamacare. In the long run it will save you a ton of money.

Its funny how Republicans knock down Obamacare when they do not have a better Alternative. Is Obamacare perfect? NO. But it is an improvement for sure and hopefully a step to universal health care.

What I do not like about Obamacare? The insurance companies still maintain most of its power and influence. Which means they can start raising prices once they stabilize the healthcare system.

Also the real problem with the American health care system is that it is over priced(by design of course). Reason? Shortage of doctors. Why is there a shortage of doctors? Education costs to become a doctor are ridiculously high. Basically so only the kids of the rich can afford to go, and limiting the number of doctors ensures they can over charge.

Remedy? Educate more doctors.

The entire system is over priced because there are too many people eating from the system. That is why the medical lobby is one of the most powerful in America. These are the guys that spread the mis-information and say how great the American health care system is and lies about other countries waiting in line for days and years.

Though every global report I have seen and even reports from America medical academic thoughts? Show that the American health care system lags behind many other universal health care systems, yet Americans pay more then 10X more then anyone else.

As an American put it? We are the only dumbasses in the world that will over pay for medical attention.......

Three local chapters of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), whose political action committee spent $27 million supporting Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential election, have received temporary waivers from a provision in the Obamacare law.

The three SEIU chapters include the Local 25 in Obama’s hometown of Chicago.

The waivers allow health insurance plans to limit how much they will spend on a policy holder’s medical coverage for a given year. Under the new health care law, however, such annual limits are phased out by the year 2014. (Under HHS regulations, annual limits can be no less than $750,000 for 2011, no less than $1.25 million in 2012 and no less than $2 million in 2013.)

The better alternative to ObamaCare is the free market, duh.

ummmmm. If you haven't noticed? Your private health care is responsible for racking up your deficit and rising health premium rates(also responsible for the so called free market). With jobs disappearing over seas and with it, good jobs with great health care coverage.

You'd have to be foolish to avoid Obamacare. In the long run it will save you a ton of money.

And yet we have 733 waivers, many of them to labor unions? Go figure...
Guess those unions don't see the wonderful opportunity they're missing.

A better alternative...? I happen to be very happy with my insurance and its cost...I don't want or need an alternative....its my business, not yours.
.

Actually, the deficit is due to government spending more than it takes in, duh.

And what do you think the medical field is doing? Why do you think Insurance premiums are sky rocketing?

Could it just be greedy insurance companies of the free market? A market where most of the competition is gone and a few insurance companies remain?

The malpractice insurance companies are reacting to ridiculous jury awards and greedy trial attorneys.

The medical field is reacting to the price of their malpractice insurance, and ordering up expensive tests on patients. This is called defensive medicine.

The health insurance companies are reacting to the high cost of defensive medicine, duh.

As Vincent pointed out? "The waivers allow health insurance plans to limit how much they will spend on a policy holder’s medical coverage for a given year."

You know what that means? The Unions don't want to dish out extra cash till the extra money starts to flow into their coffers. Get it?

And although YOU are happy with your coverage? MANY Americans ARE NOT!

What am I missing Yurt ?

i thought we posted the same article

White House quietly exempts pampered politicos

If you would like to know what the White House really thinks of Obamacare, there’s an easy way. Look past its press releases. Ignore its promises. Forget its talking points. Instead, simply witness for yourself the outrageous way the White House protects its best friends from Obamacare.

Last year, we learned that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had granted 111 waivers to protect a lucky few from the onerous regulations of the new national health care overhaul. That number quickly and quietly climbed to 222, and last week we learned that the number of Obamacare privileged escapes has skyrocketed to 733.

Among the fortunate is a who’s who list of unions, businesses and even several cities and four states (Massachusetts, New Jersey, Ohio and Tennessee) but none of the friends of Barack feature as prominently as the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

How can you get your own free pass from Obamacare? Maybe you can just donate $27 million to President Obama‘s campaign efforts. That’s what Andy Stern did as president of SEIU in 2008. He has been the most frequent guest at Mr. Obama‘s White House.

...

It was Mr. Obama himself who infamously said, “We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends.” This president speaks anything but softly, and Obamacare is his big stick.

its hilarious that anyone needs a waiver for obamacare

The waivers allow for limited benefit plans to exist until the health insurance exchanges kick in. What's hilarious about that? Maybe this is just another example of my underdeveloped sense of humor.

no, seriously, its hilarious that obama's buddies need and recieve waivers for his lauded h/c.....

Congress Probes Obama’s Pay-to-Play Healthcare Waivers

Congressional investigators are demanding to know what criteria the Obama administration used to grant 733 healthcare-reform waivers on insurance plans covering more than 2 million Americans. The inquiry comes amidst allegations that waivers are being granted to reward political supporters, such as unions, or to avoid the spectacle of large numbers of Americans losing coverage.

Well, that really clarifies things. It's hilarious because, seriously, it's hilarious.

OK.

"limited"?

CWA doesn't have a "limited" product, yet they got one of these waivers. You have to just "believe" whatever you hear to pretend that is what this does. That is total rubbish.

You think there are that many malpractice suits to justify the enormous rise we have witnessed?

That must be one heck of a dysfunctional health care.

Sounds like the people are being robbed by the legal system, health care system AND the insurance companies. WOW!

I think there is much more to it then that. American health care workers make much more then health care workers around the world.

Good for doctors though bad for patients.

I support tort reform, though much more has to be done as I pointed out in my previous post.
