No nationalities that came to the US tried to annihilate the other nationalities that came before them, or tried to overthrow the existing authorities that were in place....Even the Civil War wasn't about different nationalities.

Immigrants had more in common than the superficial differences in their cultures.....the bigotries actually subsided quite quickly because of their common interests in survival

and desire for freedom....

so, as usual, you're way off the mark, apples and oranges......nice try even though you've got nothing.

Everyone brings something different. A lot of the immigrants who nativists opposed way back when became entrepeneurs and scholars and others who contributed to American society in a huge way.

You see one difference between those wonderful immigrants of the past and the scum today is that the immigrants of old wanted to assimilate. Not so much today.
