How much prison time could Trump face? Past cases brought steep punishment for docume

A president cannot serve prison time as it’s a national security risk.

Also Trump is entitled to secret service protection for life meaning he cannot be forced to be separated from his protective detail nor be handcuffed

All of his food would need to be ordered in as the prisoners might poison it

The worst case scenario is he would be sentenced to house arrest

Also, if convicted the current president would pardon him under the guise of moving the country along

It’s an unwritten rule that presidents will always get a pardon

Even if Biden were convicted Trump would pardon him

There is also no crime by Trump.

If Trump were found guilty. you would learn that we still have 2 levels of justice. He would not serve time, even though he did much more than other people who misused classified documents. Trump is being treated specially now. They are having the trial in a Red state near his home, even though his worst crime, of showing the super classified documents to civilians, was done in Bedminster. They were justified in having the trial in D.C. But they ent along with Miami. They also have not tried to get a new judge to oversee it. This trial is way beyond Cannon's experience and abilities. But the prosecution is not fighting that either. The message is as they said it is. This case is such a solid lock to prove, that even Trump's people cannot turn it into his favor.

Guilty of what? No crime was listed in the indictment.

20 years of house arrest sounds about right.

There's no unwritten rule, Tink. Ford pardoning Nixon was a mistake that cost him the 1976 election. Any Republican who pardons Trump would probably face the same fate.

Pardoning Nixon from what? Pardoning Trump from what?
