How long are Americans sad and angry about mass shootings? Four days.

As overwhelming as the feeling is now, the available evidence suggests that it will fade into the background within about four days. This means we have four days in which to act on it. Four days to take steps that might help prevent the next Uvalde or Sandy Hook or Parkland or Columbine massacre before we move on, before we return to the immediate concerns of our own lives — and before the urge to take on an intractable problem loses the emotion that can fuel momentum.

I came to this conclusion after working with a unique daily survey conducted by Gallup.

We didn't have this mass shooting in schools problem until the feminized Millenial Bidenesque males were created. :palm:

"Crucially, the survey also reveals when these events fade in importance from our minds. The troubling reality is that it doesn’t take long. Days after the Sandy Hook mass shooting, Americans’ reports of sadness and anger returned to their normal levels. This doesn’t mean we forgot about the shooting or no longer cared. It just means that we returned to our lives, that the horror of what had happened had moved away from the forefront of our consciousness even as the sadness and anger lingered in the background.

So, speaking personally... this "one" changed me. Maybe it's because I know people in the area but I think the thing that's motivating me the most, is the cruelty and cynicism, outright dishonesty from the other side about military style weapons, and our access to them as THE PROBLEM.

I'm not letting this one go - I made a mortal sin as well - I started a conversation about this on FB which is a "sin" to me because I don't feel FB is the place for it. But I started something because a bunch of my friends have been set off there too. I had to get away from that. One of them is a retired teacher. She's not doing well.

Along the "cruelty" line.. did you see the NRA attendees taking selfies of themselves taunting the mourners, holding up pictures of their murdered babies?

The NRA is not a human organization. They've got to be made up of ET's. Who does that?

you should get her a gun.

it's nice to feel secure.

Oh well. That's over.
What's the next spectacle to get hysterical about?

Not for me. How about you? It's not fucking over.. not by a longshot. Not this time. Those cops standing outside the classroom door, waiting for the killing to be done.. that's a metaphor for how "accepting" we've become that "some babies just gotta die".

Not for me. I'm not like them.

Your virtue signaling hypocrisy is empty and soulless. It is only politically motivated with the white lib blueblood goal of diminishing the rights of the peasants.

Why don't you just send money to the families affected? ... that would actually help more than your Beto-esque political grand standing.

We killed thousands of people in Afghanistan. Did any American shed a tear for them?

"As of April 2021, more than 71,000 Afghan and Pakistani civilians are estimated to have died as a direct result of the war." https://watson.brown.edu/costsofwar/costs/human/civilians/afghan
