How is life after 8 years of Obama? What's the murder rate in Chicago

Chicago is Obamas home, and where he sent his chief of staff to run for mayor. Perhaps you didn't know that, it's ok. So have you gotten your hope and change like the protesters who are making their own change by killing the police that are protecting them

A President is supposed to pay more attention to the city where he's from?

No but when his former chief of staff Rahm Emmanuel gets elected there, he is supposed to pay all of his attention to Chicago. Looks like he gave away guns or something.

If a President isn't supposed to pay more attention to the city where he's from, why did you make a point of saying it's Obama's home town?

Has it occurred to anyone on the right that just having a black President might stoke more division?

I think Obama has done what a leader can to try to heal the divide. Hearing him speak today, I can't think of anyone better. But "solving racism" is something a President has limited capability to do. That's on us.

He has on every occasion insured division.
And we are worse off than before the civil rights era. I was alive for it. I remember. Good job BO.

How was life in Chicago before eight years of Obama? Let's start with the bush years.

2001: 667 2002: 656 2003: 601

Now what happened in 2004? "After adopting crime-fighting techniques in 2004 that were recommended by the Los Angeles Police Department and the New York City Police Department,[SUP][11][/SUP] Chicago recorded 448 homicides, the lowest total since 1965. This murder rate of 15.65 per 100,000 population is still above the U.S. average, an average which takes in many small towns and suburbs."[SUP][12][/SUP]

However, there was a rise in the last year of the bush administration.

2004: 453 2005: 451 2006: 471 2007: 448 2008: 513[SUP]

[/SUP]The Obama years:

2009: 459 2010: 436 2011: 435 2012: 516 2013: 441 2014: 432 2015: 488[SUP]
[/SUP]
Looks like the homicide rate during the Obama years is pretty much the same as what it was during the bush years, with the exception of 2001, 2002, 2003 when it was much higher. And the rate change is credited to the adoption of LAPD and the NYPD crime-fighting techniques.

Ergo, your contention that any of the Chicago homicide rates tie to the Obama administration is just so much BS.

and by a percentage of the vote how much trust did the black community give to bush and obama respectively?

His 'solution' is to scapegoat guns and the NRA lol.

Ultimately, it's a problem with the community itself and not guns. NYC was just about as bad till Rudy Guliani was elected mayor and he turned it around with proactive policing. Now we have the Ferguson Effect where cops are backing off because they fear their policing actions may get them into trouble.

Vote for Hillary if you want it to continue. Unbelievably, many people who live in Chicago amongst the violence will do exactly that.

It's pretty jacked up.

More homicides in the first three years of the bush administration than in any year of the Obama administration. How do you explain that?

Did he also get 55% of the voters to vote for him in 2011, and 56% in 2015?

Better law enforcement? You'll notice in my last post that I said the problem is first and foremost, in the community itself: there's a limit to what the federal government can do.

Who was mayor during those years? That's a better question than who was president.

The only way he insured division was by having the gall as a half-black man to run for president. Then all the racism that was seething below the surface came out.

Nope. I can name several black conservatives that would have made excellent presidents and only the far fringe right would have had a problem with him.

That is exactly what I posted: "...what happened in 2004? The rate went down approximately 33% and has stayed in the same range since then. So it doesn't appear that the president had anything to do with the rate.[SUP]

You have me confused with Ziggy lol?

The research speaks for itself.

"After Obama's election victory in November, white supremacist online activity spiked, with people posting hundreds of messages to online forums. White supremacist groups and individuals claimed that the Obama presidency, the immigration issue, and tough economic times would serve as powerful catalysts for recruiting more people to the white supremacist movement. Jeff Schoep, head of the National Socialist Movement, the largest Neo-Nazi group in America, said interest in the NSM "has really spiked up," but would not reveal by how much.[SUP]18[/SUP] Don Black, a 55 year-old former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard, claimed more than 2,000 people joined his website on the day after Obama's election, up from 80 on an ordinary day. Started in 1995, Black's website is one of the oldest and largest hate group sites, now claiming 110,000 members. As David Duke, a former Klan leader who was once a member of the Louisiana legislature, has said, Obama is a "visual aid" that galvanizes the white supremacist movement.[SUP]19

Yeah; to liberals it's always about Bush, all day and all the time.

News flash: He hasn't been President since 2009.
