I eliminated earmarks.

I eliminated farm subsidies.

I reduced the nuclear arsenal and space spending.

I reduced the military to pre-Iraq War size and further reduced troops in Asia and Europe.

I reduced Navy and Air Force fleets.

I canceled or delayed some weapons programs.

I would reduce the number of troops in Iraq and Afghanistan to 30,000 by 2013.

I enacted medical malpractice reform.

I reduced the tax break for employer-provided health insurance.

I reduced Social Security benefits for those with high incomes.

I tightened eligibility for disability.

I used an alternate measure for inflation.

I returned the estate tax to Clinton-era levels.

I returned capital gains tax rates to Clinton-era levels.

I allowed the Bush tax cuts to expire for income above $250,000 a year.

I subjected some incomes above $106,000 to payroll tax.

I imposed a “millionaire's tax” on income above $1 million.

I eliminated tax loopholes.

I reduced mortgage deduction and other tax breaks for high-income households.

This relies on the 2009 estimate, not the 2010 reestimate. It's also important to note that, in order to keep medicare and SS from eventually becoming unimaginably expensive, we're going to have to start saving for it now.
