How far do we go to defend Ukraine?

:toilet: That is why we voted out the last president in 2020.

What has Biden done wrong?

I understand the need to always criticize him, and he's not a great President. But the Ukraine has been his finest moment, so far - he is leading the world response and has put as much pressure on Russia as we can without pushing things to a point of no return.

Biden should have confined his parameters to the NSC. Nothing should have been stated publicly about how far we were willing to let Putin go, or how much of a committment we were willing to give to Ukraine. All it did was reassure Putin.

Hard to say if Ukraine is even his finest moment, despite only having failures to this point.

we already "did" more then enough to set up a predicate for this war
NATO expansion
meddling in the Euromaidan
encouraging Ukraine to tilt all west
ubermilitarizing Ukraine, and refusing to negotiate Russian security/"red lines"

and for those that cant keep 2 idea in their head at the same time that doesn't absolve Putin.
But it shows the west's ( especially the US) "bad karma/intentions" cant simply be dismissed as well

If we had immediately put Ukraine into NATO after the dissolution of the USSR, and also allowed them to keep their Soviet nukes, we would not be having this conversation.

My wife’s very Pro Trump family is starting to criticize Biden for not doing enough to defend Ukraine. These are people who just a few months ago were defending Putin….

So, while I am starting to see a trend of Republicans starting to complain about Biden not doing enough, I’m interested… should we be doing more? Where is the line? What should the US do?

We should do nothing. Russia is doing us a favor. Our relationship with the Ukraine is based entirely on coercion.

America should not be doing ANYTHING militarily.
This is between Ukraine and Russia.
None of our business.
Just as Syria, Libya and on and on were none of our business.
We helped in Libya and Syria?
And look now?
They are both a complete MESS.

Only if there is MASS genocide (which there is not yet) or humanitarian help is required (which is needed).
That's it.

I don't even agree with economic sanctions as they do NOT work at regime change.
Just look at Iran, Iraq, Cuba, North Korea, etc. for proof.
And they hurt the poor and middle classes the most.
The wealthy/politicians can still get in whatever they want...just costs them more.

Also...it's funny how you people are so desperate to help Ukraine.
Yet do not give a shit about Yemen...which is being bombed by American/GB-backed Saudi Arabian air force jets.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saudi_Arabian–led_intervention_in_Yemen
And there have already been 85,000 children killed.
While the UN is calling for a help to try and stop a famine that could kill millions in Yemen.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Famine_in_Yemen_(2016–present)

And yet you people don't give a shit about that.
You are not calling for the Saudi's to stop bombing.
The US/GB to stop helping the Saudi's.
Immediate help for the Yemeni civilians.
NOTHING.

You people are NOTHING (in this regard) but a bunch of virtue signaling, hypocrites.
Who get worked up by whatever the government/MSM tell you to get worked up about.
Pathetic sheep.

Oh look it's story time!

I'm not sure what that means

It means that Brad** was high, apparently.

I think Biden is doing a perfect job.

That means that you are, too.

Keeping the US OUT OF WAR and at the same time giving Ukraine everything it needs to defend itself.

Putin might be the one who makes that decision if bungling Biden keeps taking the Ukrainians' side.

How is the bungler gonna "keep us out of war" if his meddling leads to a Russian attack on us?

How far do we go to defend Ukraine?

We are much more prosperous than the Russians, and many of the new weapons systems [might] be able to take out weapons systems that cost 100 times as much. It really might not be that much we are asked to give.

It is not like we are sending troops.
