How does the NFL come out ahead in all of this?

Those who have watched the whole "hands up don't shoot" LIE unfold have every right to be pissed off.

No more....

Better git one of those jerseys while you can, won't be any demand for them after yesterday.

Lol, they have their right to be pissed, but not others....:palm:

I don't think these thugs really realize just how much the playing of the anthem and the respect it represents means to blood and guts America.

Us, the fabric of this country actually tear up when we stand for it sometimes, that emotional response is not to be taken lightly.
These goons are underestimating just how much this charade of a protest bothers us.

"Thugs"? You rayciss!

Forget whether or not you agree or disagree with the kneeling. My question is how the NFL comes out ahead and improves its brand with all of this.

I don't see how. The NFL should have shut this down last year. There might have been a little bitching and moaning, but it would have dissipated. Now they are stuck between a rock and hard place and it is because they were weak.

I will reduce thread bans for this one

The only positive outcome is they get a player strike, lock them all out and reform with reasonable labor costs.
It will be painfull but it solves a p robllem the owners were too stupid to prevent.

Really? You get a patriotic boner every time you hear the anthem? Come on. You're just using this issue as a reason to get upset. It doesn't really upset you, but it's plausible that someone could be upset, so you run with that and it makes a wonderful reason to brand those dirty liberals. Surely you're angry about police shooting unarmed people and getting away with it, right? The protest of the government failing to prevent the police from escaping justice is what you're supposed to focus on, not the method of protest.

Oh well, whatever. I don't have the energy to deal with this issue anymore when it's obvious it's just an excuse to bash instead the intended purpose of making you think about injustice. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them think

At this point there are only three options available to the NFL

1) End playing the national anthem at all games - The left would applaud, but it would not go over well. In fact, I would argue that if that happened it not only would backfire on the NFL it would bleed into the 2018 elections as it would be blamed on the left and the democrat party
Again...the military wastes millions in taxpayer dollars in bribes to the NFL. Players were never on the field for the anthem in the past.
2) Enforce current rules which I have already posted - This effectively shuts down the bogus protests, but animates the BLM crowd and opens up the NFL to charges of being racist and looking like they are now on the side of Trump
Read up on the rules....you're wrong.

3) Do nothing and let the inmates run the asylum - Maybe it goes away, but I doubt it. It probably descends into a slow burn and they continue to lose fans.

At this point there is no way the NFL can win in any of this.
Those 'inmates' are bringing in billions. Best to address the giant elephant in the room.....there's a real problem in specific areas of the country.

Easy. Your place of employment does it all the time. You guys did it to bakers

First amendment doesn’t apply here

Nope. The bakers violated civil rights. They have no First Amendment right to refuse service.

How many times does that need to be explained, dumbfuck?

If it's the bakers I'm thinking of, the compensation was for publicizing the gay couples' home address.

I don't think people who are casual fans realize this, but the product is the biggest problem the NFL has. Their ratings were going down anyway because of poor quality play. Some have also theorized that "Patriots fatigue" is playing a big part of that, with the league still being top-heavy in spite of efforts for parity.

I think this is a blip. It actually WAS kind of a blip until Trump spoke up. I'm sure there are those who won't watch because of it, but I'd be surprised if it was a significant # - at least enough to impact the bottom line in a big way.

The NFL should focus on improving the product, and the rest will take care of itself.

no man this is no blimp ,i have been a nfl fan for ever,i watched ya tittle play,i have shut the nfl off, that flag comes home on every casket, shame on the nfl.

You can't make him drink, but you can make him wish he had......... :D

They'll start thinking of reducing ticket and concession prices, all in an effort to try and get people to view them as "for the regular person".

& that has what to do w/ a sports game between two competing franchises/corporations??

What does dishonoring the flag and the republic for which it stands at a game when it's local criminal justice you are unhappy with ?
It's just lazy and makes no sense or point. If they want to help, this doesnt.
