I think the Democrats mistake was allowing a vocal minority to push identity politics, pronouns, and transgender athletes way beyond what the nation was ready for. Even Barack Obama cautiously waited to come down on the side of gay marriage only when the country was ready for it.

I don't think the mainstream Democratic party was ever hostile to a robust military and intelligence capability. Most military actions in the last 110 years were started by Democrats. And Republicans used to complain Clinton was just using his pursuit of OBL to distract from Monica

Agreed. The Republicans made a similar mistake by letting a vocal minority push a bigoted, White Nationalist agenda.

Clinton, at the time, led the way to "turn guns into butter". He and the Democratic leadership effectively became isolationist by turning their eyes from outward into inward. Clinton's sex scandals followed by accusations of "Wag the Dog" prevented him from doing what was necessary to take out al-Qaeda after they attacked US embassies. A few cruise missiles was not an effective solution.

That said, the Democrats, especially Bill Clinton, bears at least half the responsibility for 9/11 due to their failures to address the threat in 8 years of office.

Yes, for decades now, the Republicans have sought to sway elections through various means, but the elections themselves remain free and fair.

A second question is "Why have Presidents been elected with less than 50% of the majority voting for them?"
