I don't give a rat's behind about Trump. MBS has made unprecedented social reforms, economic reforms and anti-corruption reforms .. and Khashoggi was working overtime to destroy that. Muslim Brotherhood has been illegal in KSA since Faisal was King in the early 1970s.
Khashoggi was NO liberal.. nor was he a voice for democracy.

Doesn't mater if he was or not and your argument is basically that if he wasn't doing our bidding then he can be murdered by a regime who still does public square beheadings as we partner with them to bring "peace" to the middle east. America has no business occupying and "managing" the middle east, Latin/Central/South America or any other region of the world. The empire is in decline. Our rationales for endless generational wars of economic colonization and occupation never end, but the empire will and it will not be pretty when the petrodollar goes down. Watch.
America is no voice for democracy, it is recognized by the rest of the world as THE greatest threat to world peace. The military is used to advance the colonial agenda of the Wall Street/donor/"job creator" class and has nothing to do with democracy or a better life for anyone in the middle east sans the brutal dictators we partner with all the time.

I lived in Arabia a long time and I hold them in high regard. They do want peace and that should be evident from their track record. The US has never had a colonial agenda in Arabia.. The oil concession was limited to 50 years on the front end.. and the objective was always to keep the US government out of it.. which ARAMCO did quite successfully.
The American oil men drilled a water well for every oil well, eradicated malaria in the Eastern province, educated the brightest and best and helped the country develop without imposing western values on them. The Americans were not missionaries or reformers.. they went to get the oil which fueled the Marshal Plan and made the US a superpower.
They screwed up killing Khashoggi.. so what? He was a rotten egg who wanted to turn Arabia into Libya.
