How did Gene Hackman die?

If they died a long time ago and at the same time then obviously the most likely is that Gene fell and died, which at his age is extremely possible, and that his wife of about 35 years did suicide....but that only one of three dogs is dead, the other two are reportedly fine, is perplexing.

They have no staff and nobody noticed/came to check on them for a long time?

Also perplexing....makes me wonder if the wife made some calls before suicide, but do that to dogs?

We'll See.

Did they know the Clintons?

Hackman starred in Absolute Power (1997), a political thriller released during Bill Clinton’s presidency, where he played a fictional U.S. president involved in a scandal. The film’s plot echoes the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal that emerged around that time.

Subdivision maintenance workers workers called in the 911.....the front door was slightly open....had they noticed this days or weeks ago?

A big problem for the carbon monoxide story (as well the healthy dogs), and some problem for the fall/suicide story.

The two dogs that survived were in a kennel outside. The one that died was in the house. Could be carbon monoxide poisoning. When they died the furnace may have been on and when they were found the furnace may have been off so no monoxide. Hackman may have fallen because he was disoriented from monoxide.

Hmmm.

That's interesting.

Killary strikes again.

Is it possible for them to have died weeks ago of monoxide and friends/family/employees never checked on them?

If the wife made some calls to set it up with a false story yes, but otherwise it is hard to believe.

I'll wait for the autopsies and investigations. A lot of elderly people die and nobody finds them for days and even weeks if they live alone and something happens. It's just unusual for two at once to do so. With gas furnaces it's always a possibility, and in the southwest gas is common for heaters and water heaters. 62% of homes use gas in NM. Eastern NM and west Texas has oil and gas out the wazoo. I would bet they never kept their gas and monoxide detectors charged up; a lot of people don't; same with smoke detectors.

Maybe she found him dead and then killed herself with pills? who knows at this point.

GENE HACKMAN'S DEATH: I Was Wrong. It's VERY suspicious: -The front door to the residence was found ajar by two maitenence workers-Gene Hackman, his wife Betsy Arakawa, and their dog were found dead in separate rooms.-Their bodies had been dead for some time- Arakawa was in the mummification phase, according to authorities in New Mexico.-No signs of a gas leak-Hackman was found in his mudroom near the kitchen, while Arakawa was discovered in a bathroom next to a portable heater on the ground.-Prescription bottle and scattered pills were found near Arakawa.-The dog was found in a bathroom closet 10-15 away from Arakawa.- 2 other HEALTHY DOGS were found inside and outside the house

From the report of the first officer on the scene I believe.

Gossip mongers don't know any more than I do about it; they just toss out endless click bait. How big is the house? The stuff forms in pockets even in the open; just ask oil filed workers who got blown up driving through gullies around oil fields or smothered. I'm going with he had stroke of fell down and hit his head, and she found him and did herself in if it wasn't gas or monoxide. Either one of them could have left the door open.

Check out the house.

lol at 'but the front door was open!'

HIs pacemaker stopped on February 17, according to a pathologist.

"But investigators believe Hackman actually died on February 17, the last date recorded on his pacemaker — nine days before he was found.
During a press conference on Friday, Sheriff Adan Mendoza said the finding was made in an investigation by Dr Heather Jarrell, New Mexico's Chief Medical Investigator.

Mendoza told reporters: "An initial interrogation was conducted of Mr Hackman's pacemaker. This revealed that his last event was recorded on February 17, 2025, I was advised that a more thorough investigation will be completed."

When asked if that indicated Hackman had died that day, he replied: "According to the pathologist I think that is a very good assumption, that that was his last day of life."

That's interesting.

The three choices are:

1) Murder

2) Gas/Monoxide

3) He fell and died, she suicided.

The blood test results wont be for weeks I think.
