How could they justify not prosecuting Trump at this point?

“He had a standing order that documents removed from the Oval Office and taken into the residence were deemed to be declassified,” the statement added. “The power to classify and declassify documents rests solely with the President of the United States. The idea that some paper-pushing bureaucrat, with classification authority delegated BY THE PRESIDENT, needs to approve of declassification is absurd.”

The Left in government leadership will attempt to contest that, but the President has very broad powers in this area. Obama himself solidified that power in 2009.

Obama’s executive order no. 13526, issued in 2009, laid out the stringent process all federal officials and agencies needed to follow for declassification but explicitly exempted the sitting president and vice president from having to follow those procedures.

There is also an executive order by George W. Bush in 2003 that covers it.

You think a FPOTUS is above the law.

So says Trump, the pathological liar. Many close to him say he’s lying again. No such order existed.

Have you heard anything more about his "lawsuit" to have a Special Master appointed? His first filing was RW cuckoo gibberish.

I heard (someplace?) it is being seriously considered. At this point the Affidavit and investigation have not even named a person being investigated, just the taking and keeping records at an unauthorized location. It there is a prosecution I think it will be some time before that happens.

That's true, we all assumed it was Trump they were after. I expect that they won't do much of anything until after November. They don't want to be Comeying the election.

His own intel people said they never heard of any such thing.

Here’s the unfortunate thing. It will come down to “he said/she said” in any trial. All it will take is one Trumper on a jury to hang it on the classification issue. However, Trump won’t take the stand to say so. So, who will? Patel? And will he be believable enough? Probably so for any Trumper. They’re already convinced, as all can see.

if the personalities on Fox tell me that the FBI found highly classified documents in MAL, I would believe them.

Fox is just another AP propaganda outlet that regurgitates the AP release and puts their own little spin on it just like all the other AP lapdogs.

CBS is better than Fox.

The classified thing is important, but not the most important thing.
