Houston: close libraries, make detention centers

In school suspension and disciplinary areas have been a part of schools for a very long time...Would you rather they suspend the children who are disruptive and have them running free at home? This way, they're still in school and offered the opportunity to learn...and hopefully, to improve their disruptive behaviors...
 
I suppose that if parents send their kids to school in a place like Texas,
or any red state, really,
they can't even guess what they're going to get.

I once attended a two or three day seminar at Clemson--as an adult.
That's the closest that I ever came to going to school in a red state.
In all fairness, the local barbeque wasn't bad at all,
and the barmaid at the motor inn was affable enough to this northerner to earn a generous tip.

Here's the funny thing thing, though.
Back in those days, around the time that Elvis died and offspring #2 was an infant,
the young lady had to pour the alcohol for each drink from a new miniature bottle.
That was their crazy law back then, but at least I could get a decent drink so no complaints.

You think that has anything to do with the population of Houston being two-thirds minorities with Blacks over-represented by nearly 50% compared to the national average? :thinking:

I'd think sending the little felons to juvie would be a better solution. Let them start training for a career in crime and prison behavior early...
