If Ryan and co. had any principles Trump wouldn't be the nominee.
Trump is the most un-republican candidate since ???? He is actually in many areas more liberal and isolationist than Hillary. But can any republican say that out loud given the base of their party? The republican anti government ideas and propaganda have created a party with no grounding. Ryan is an ideologue who believes in the magic of supply side voodoo economics, you'd think by now they'd have figured that out. They lost their base kowtowing to a obsolete idol.
